We're bored at least once every day. Right? Whether at work, at home, at school or at literally any place, often we find ourselves wishing there was something "better" to do. We all have our defaults but, sometimes, it's nice to switch things up and forgo Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Netflix, Hulu, etc...
To jog your brain, here's
11 Things To Do When You're Bored
1. Alchemy.
Anyone else remember this game?? I was recently re-introduced to the hours of fun/killing time this game has to offer. http://littlealchemy.com/
2. Plan a trip.
I do this all the time. Pull up https://www.skyscanner.com/ for the best view of flights or https://rtw.oneworld.com/rtw/ to plan out your dream "around the world" vacation. I could actually do this for hours.
3. Catch up on local, national or international news.
Nowadays, there are so many things going on. It's important to know what's going on.
4. Practice language skills on Duolingo.
Learn a language when you're bored! Start small and practice a bit a day. The time pays off.
5. Organize your Apps/Desktop/Google Drive.
I firmly believe your life is in direct coorelation with how organized/unorganized your phone/computer is. If you're the type of person that has 1,000+ unread emails on your phone a.) I refuse to support this lifestyle choice b.) clean that ish up.
6. Spruce up your resumé/LinkedIn.
It's never a bad thing to make sure your professional life is up to date. You never know who is going to view your LinkedIn profile.
7. Balance and Budget.
If you don't have Mint yet (which you should if you've been keeping up with my articles 😁 ), get it. Get your finances in check. If you're more old school, create a https://docs.google.comGoogle Sheets page to keep tabs of your expenses/income.
8. Check out new recipes.
Google is your best friend here. Feeling festive? Google it. Feeling something sweet. Google it. Recipes online are as limitless as pictures on Tumblr.
9. Browse Amazon.
Be forewarned. This is dangerous. Especially if you have 1-click ordering set up. Be inspired. Look around. Start saving for that espresso machine you found last week for $40 (me).
10. Create (video, music, art).
There are programs and websites galore. Download an art app or create a movie on iMovie. Feeling musical? Get Finale Notepad. It's a free download for Mac or PC that helps you write out that melody stuck in your head.
11. Pick a new topic to learn about.
Heard about something/someone either in the past or in the present that peaked your interest? Check it out! Do some digging. Expand your mind. You never know what the final question for trivia night is going to be.
Of course, these are just a few options; however, after reading this, I hope you're inspired to do something new and/or productive with those "I'm bored" moments.
Have fun!
Cheers,
ZER
