The past couple weeks, my grandma has really declined and has not eaten anything for a week and a half. So, I wanted to write an article completely dedicated to her. Here are 11 things I am going to miss about my grandma. This one's for you buddy.

1.) Her sassiness.

My grandma could be really sassy at times, and it always made visiting her entertaining!

2.) Her jokes.

My grandma is a really funny lady and can always make me laugh. We had a running joke that I had 8 boyfriends at one time, one for every day of the week and two on Saturdays. Don't worry, it was just a joke!

3.) Her love for cookies.

I definitely got my love of cookies from my grandma. One time, she asked for Oreos and we only had two left. So I handed her the two Oreos, and she gave me the evil eye and asked, "Am I on a diet?". This was one of the funniest memories I had of my grandma. She really loved her cookies.

4.) Her smile.

My grandma is so beautiful, and to this day she has a great smile and I am going to miss it dearly.

5.) Her support.

Whenever I visited her, she would always be eager to hear what I was up to and any new stories I have.

6.) Her stubborness.

She is by far one of the most stubborn women I know, but it's something you just have to love about her.

7.) Her laugh.

My grandma's laugh is extremely contagious, and just hearing it could always make me laugh too.

8.) Her creativity.

Throughout her life, my grandma made many beautiful things like blankets that I still have to this day.

9.) Her company in general.

I always enjoy hanging out with my grandma. She refers to me as her "buddy", and I always feel so loved and happy when I see her.

10.) Her positive spirit.

My aunt was telling me a story a couple days ago how she and my grandma would talk on the phone, and my grandma would say, "There are a lot of grey clouds in the sky right now, but boy are they sure a beautiful grey." She always knew how to look on the bright side.

11.) Her humming and singing.

My grandma would hum and sing a lot, and she always seemed so happy whenever she did, and I couldn't help but smile.

Grandma, I am sure going to miss you. I'll always be your buddy.

Love,

My Grandma's Buddy

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
