Along with college, comes an insane amount of work. Since we spend most of our time doing homework and studying, we need to have a comfortable working space. However, consistently working gets exhausting and changing up your study space can be refreshing. Just remember to keep yourself focused at your new locations! Here are a few popular and secret study spots on Rider's campus:
1. Moore Library
This is the most obvious place to go study. It's quiet, spacious and sometimes a little too hot, but my suite-mates love it there.
2. The SRC
The student recreation center is my second home. Starbucks gives the src a coffee shop vibe and it's my favorite spot on campus. Catch me there almost everyday.
3. North Hall
A secret spot that is actually perfect to do homework in in north hall, on the second floor. There is a little where tables and chairs sit waiting for you. It's quiet, unpopulated and a nice get-a-way. You're welcome.
4. Outside of Cranberry's
On a nice day, the patio outside of crans is a really nice spot to do homework. There's a pretty view of campus too. You can't beat it.
5. Cranberry's
Sometimes you only have a short amount of time between classes. If you get a little hungry, crans is a great space to grab a bite to eat while simultaneously doing a little bit of work. You can find tables right outside of crans, across from the bookstore as well. I often forget they're there, so use them to your advantage. It's quieter out there than in the main area.
6. Fine Arts
The second floor of fine arts has about four high tables that you can use to get some work done between classes. It's very convenient.
7. Memorial Hall
On every floor, there are couches and tables to work at. Don't forget about the little cove's between the floors on the staircase! They're perfect, secluded spots to focus on your work.
8. Sweigart
Next to the Sweigart Express, you will also find some high tables to work at. If it's a nice day, you can sit outside on the patio. Take your pick, you business majors have options!
9. Outside of Residence halls
Periodically outside of some residence halls, you will find outside tables that allow you to work at a new environment without traveling far from your dorm!
10. The Commuter Lounge
Who says you have to be a commuter to work in that space? There's a ton of room and a lot of motivated people. It's nice to be surrounded by people all working hard between classes.
11. Residence Lounges
My roommates lives in the study lounge in our building. It's a great place to go when you need to get away from the distractions in your room. You also get to meet people who live in your building because everyone tends to go in there at some point in time. It's a win-win situation.
Let me know if you've found any secret study spaces on campus! Next time you're in the SRC, say hi... I'll probably be there.
Happy Studying!
