We've come upon the really rough part of the semester; you're piled under loads of work, all the friends you thought you loved are getting on your nerves, and your bank account is draining way too fast. Yet, you still need things whether it's food after napping through dinner time (not that I do that...) or a new outfit for the end of the semester festivities. Luckily, I've compiled a list of stores and services that are known to give student discounts to save some money while still getting what you want all with simply showing ID! Be sure to take advantage of some of these before you graduate.
1. J. Crew
Whether you need something to wear to a graduation ceremony or work friendly wear for your upcoming internship, J. Crew has some hidden gems. Originally somewhat pricey, by showing student ID you can get 15% off full priced items. Their sister company Madewell also offers 15% off full priced items, including comfy jeans and cotton tees.
2. Topshop
If you're looking for more trendy pieces including Beyonce's recently released Ivy Park active wear collection, students can score 10% their purchase in store and online.
3. Charlotte Russe
For sundresses, outfits for summer parties and more take a trip into Charlotte Russe. The store is already pretty affordable with weekly sales and with an added 10% discount with student ID, the prices are even lower. If you need an emergency outfit for a low price, this is the place to go.
4. Steve Madden
Steve Madden has a variety of on-trend shoes that often mimic some runway looks for way less than a fashion week price. From sandals for warm weather vacations, to boots for when you come back to campus in the fall, any fresh shoe choice is yours with a 10% discount.
5. Spotify
For when you absolutely need your summer playlist blasting through speakers on the beach or to get you through a commute to an internship, Spotify is here for students with a 50% discount on Spotify Premium. If you don't know, that means year-long access to a huge catalogue of music with unlimited skips and no ads.
6. Apple
Who doesn't want a discounted Mac or iPad? College students can get up to $200 off a Mac and $20 off a new iPad, right in time for the next semester.
7. Amazon
With access to millions of products, getting a deal on Amazon shipping is something of dreams. Students can get a six month free trial of Amazon Prime, which includes free two-day shipping and access to the thousands of shows and movies on Prime Video. From there, students can get a discount on a year subscription to Prime.
8. Qdoba
Qdoba is not only a paradise in itself (two words: cheese sauce) but for students, it's a treasure trove of deals. Students can get not only a small drink for free but also $5 burritos for students.
9. Buffalo Wild Wings
Whether it's game day or just a random Friday night, BWW offers a 10% discount for students on their entire meal.
10. Fast Food
As if that McFlurry and fries from McDonald's weren't tempting enough, a 10% student discount at participating location will ensure you make one (read a few) trips to the drive thru. Burger King and Arby's offer the same discount.
11. Jiffy Lube
And to end on a sensible note, it's important to get your car in top-notch shape before any road trips or dealing with beach traffic. Students can get a 10% discount on their repair bill.
Overall, being a student really pays off! Be sure to give some of these discounts a sample before graduation.
