Writer's block is a very common disease that plagues the best of us. While trying to write a very creative Odyssey article this week, I completely blanked and couldn't write to save my life so I tried to look for inspiration within other articles, movies, TV shows, etc. So here are the stages of writer's block as told by one of the best childhood TV shows!
1. You think of a hilarious topic that you know people would love.
You're an absolute genius for thinking of this topic. All you have to do is remember all of the points you have in your head until you can get to a computer.
2. You sit down at your computer, write the title, a few sentences, and realize that's all you got
You can't believe your genius idea has come down to a few sentences.
3. You decide to take a break and come back to it closer to the deadline.
Maybe if you go get a bite to eat and take a nap you'll be able to write again later! Or in a few days!
4. It's the day of your deadline and you have absolutely nothing.
You've managed to procrastinate until the very last minute and still have nothing to write about.
5. You start to think down on yourself.
You're an absolute failure. If you can't write this one measly thing, how will you ever make it out in the real world?
6. Maybe you can marry rich? I hear Justin Bieber is single.
Who needs an education and the ability to write when you can get all the money in the world from your future hubby?
7. You realize that would never work because you can't even write.
Just kidding because you actually suck and need to write this.
8. You try to just write without thinking about absolutely anything.
No more thinking, that's what got you in trouble in the first place. Get your head in the game!
9. You at least have something written, you can take a small break.
Chocolate makes everything better and calms the nerves of the fact that what you wrote actually sucks.
10. You read it over and realize it kind of sucks, but you don't really care anymore.
Well it's not my best work, but it gets the job done.
11. You did it! You conquered your writer's block and wrote something!
Congratulations! Can't wait to go through this process again soon!
