Snow days in college aren't anything like snow days as a kid. When you're a kid snow days are the best thing ever. No school, no work, and hot chocolate made by mom after you've played outside for hours. I remember waking up as a child and sprinting out the door barely getting my snow pants on in time.

Snow days in college, honestly, are still the best thing ever. Instead of waking up and drinking hot chocolate you wake up and drink a beer. Snow days are proof that college kids will take any excuse to binge drink. Who cares if it's a Tuesday? It's a snow day, so it's time to drink.

You know we all could have used these snow filled days to do something productive. Imagine how many job applications we could have submitted? Or the grad school applications? We could have used our free time to get started on the spring break bods we swore we'd have. But no, instead we rolled around in the snow and watched Netflix shows, that we've already finished. Nothing says unproductive like re-watching a TV series. I don't know how many times I've seen all the episodes of Parks and Rec.

Here's some signs that you were just as unproductive as I was:

1. When you "stocked up" for the storm you just bought booze.

2. So now that you're snowed in you're surviving on ramen and the leftovers in the back of your freezer.

3. You didn't shovel any snow.

4. So now your car is buried in three feet of snow.

5. You've drank every day it has snowed.

6. Your parents have called you everyday to make sure you're alright.

7. You've unsuccessfully called take out places in hopes that they would deliver in the blizzard.

8. You wish you stocked up on blue gatorade before the snow hit.

9. You never went out in any appropriate snow gear, like snow pants.

(via Giphy)

10. You're hoping the roads will keep re-freezing so you can get more days off.

(via Giphy)

11. You haven't done a single bit of homework you should have been doing over the weekend.

So, sure, you didn't get anything done this past weekend, but you had a great time and that's all that counts...right?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
