No matter what, we all have our unspoken reasons for choosing to leave home for college. Eventually, it gets to the point where it's absolutely time to go home. Being away is fun and all, but there's no place like home. When it's time to go back, you'll know. Here are a few signs it's time:
1. You miss real food.
Your dining hall food probably sucks. You'll gag if you have to eat another spoonful of Easy Mac or Cup O' Noodles. You've had a sandwich for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the past week. It's time to go home and eat a pool-sized bowl of your grandma's pasta.
2. There's $0.23 in your bank account.
God knows where all your money goes, but boy does it go. Fast. There's not much you can do in college with 23 cents. Seems kinda pathetic, but it's time to go home to mommy and daddy and hope someone hands you something.
3. You tear up a little when you call home.
Never thought you'd say it but you sorta miss those crazy home dwellers you used to see everyday. A phone call just isn't cutting it anymore.
4. Your dog.
Because they're the freakin' best creatures ever. They're probably the first thing you miss when you're at school and the last thing you think about at night. Ugh look at that dalmatian. Not even my dog and I miss it.
5. You're tired of doing the same thing every week.
Class. Eat. Class. Eat. Class. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. Kill me, please?
6. Your liver needs a breather.
After all those straight weekends of partying, you need a break. Don't worry about me guys, I'm gonna sit this one out. Maybe I'll drink some water.. There's an idea.
7. You need better sleep.
There's no better place to catch some Zzz's than your bed at home. That XL twin sized bed equipped with a nearby roommate isn't gonna do it for ya.
8. You start to get annoyed by the people around you.
It's hard to live in such close quarters with your friends. Seeing the same people everyday could leave to some friction. Avoid built up animosity and take a break from them. Don't ruin a good friendship! S/O to my BFF's: proud we haven't ripped each other's faces off yet.
9. You've built up enough cool stories to tell your friends.
At least, I know my friends that stayed home love to hear my ridiculous stories and I love to tell 'em.
10. And ya miss those peeps like hell!
Your friends from home are usually people you grew up with or went to high school with. You'll never make a closer bond with anyone than you will those kiddies. It sucks when you're away but awesome when you're finally reunited!
11. But most importantly, it's good to see your parents.
