When you're in a relationship, family turns out to be a pretty important aspect. We may not pick our partners based on our families, but it does go a long way when your family accepts your significant other. We just want all the people we care about to get along. Here are 11 reasons why my family should like my awesome partner.

1. I'm happy

I wouldn't be writing this if I didn't believe I was happy. A smile each day keeps me happy in every way.

2. I've met a good portion of his family

As scary and nerve wrecking as it was, I've met both sides of his family. From his mom and dad to sisters and brothers to cousins. I've even sat through a entire day babysitting to be supportive. It would be awesome if it went the other way around too. He wants to meet you all!

3. He would do anything for me

College can be pretty tough without the direct comfort of family to be there holding my hand every step of the way. When I was too hard-headed to call anyone for help, he stepped up to the plate to help me with anything I needed help in. He's a real trooper.

4. He pushes me to do better

With the hard tasks of classes and work, sometimes its easy to say, "I'm not getting up for class in the morning." But when the time comes for class, he's bugging me to get up and make an effort. I may be annoyed at the time, but some days I wouldn't have gotten up until 5:00pm.

5. We have a lot in common

Even though he likes Apple phones, I don't hold that against him. Whether its taking me to do something I love, cracking out some Call of Duty, or cooking a delicious meal together, I couldn't imagine doing it with anyone else.

6. He's honest

It can be a simple question of how my outfit looks, and if I look like a mess, I can count on him to say, "Maybe you should try a different shirt with those pants." In a nice way, of course.

7. He deals with my weird personality

As a girl, we all know we can be very moody at times. One second I can be nice and lovable, and the other my mind is set on trying to start an argument. Whatever it is, he puts up with it. Check the bite marks on his arm, (haha) I'm just kidding.

8. He cooks me food

When professors ask for students to say something they enjoy doing, eating is my go to answer. I love me a great home cooked meal. A girl's got to get away from the campus food every now and then, right? His steaks are to die for, and no he did not pay me to say this.

9. He's hilarious

One thing that I love is a great laugh. He might be making the ugliest face in the world or telling a joke. I absolutely find him hilarious. My camera roll consists of hundreds of his funny faces. He better hope that I don't lose my phone one day.

10. He's the same religion

This is probably one of the most important aspects in our relationship. We both heavily believe and base each decision we make together on our beliefs in God. For couples with different religions, I don't know how it works out. This is a must for me!

11. Our vision of the future is the same

Even though we are only in our college years, we have seen and been through a lot together. Without the same or similar goals in life, this relationship wouldn't work out.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
