Dear Best Friend,
You are my favorite person. This list could go on to infinite... so, instead, I chose the top 11 reasons why you're my best friend.
1. You make me laugh.
Getting to know someone to the point that small, snide comments turn into hysterical fits of laughter is a true blessing.
2. You send me the best random stuff.
Whether it be Instagram posts, Snapchat stories, or iFunny memes... I know to expect several throughout the day from you. And they make my day a little bit better one share at a time.
3. We don't have to talk.
There are days when you'll sit down near me, give me a half hearted smile, and then leave an hour later. There's no pressure to fill that silence. We can be silent and still be content. We can gauge each other's mood and proceed accordingly. It is a level of understanding that I wish I had with everyone... because some people just cannot tell when to shhh...
4. We can argue.
We can disagree and argue, and it very rarely leads to fallout. And if it does, one of us will end up apologizing the next day.
5. You're always the one that ends up apologizing first.
You recognize my character flaw of being way too stubborn and prideful. Yet, you don't let YOUR pride get in the way of our friendship. Now that's a wise friend.
6. You open up to me.
It is difficult getting to know someone well enough to be able to comfortably talk about anything and everything. Telling you my secrets, thoughts, and fears is significant... but having the honor to know some of yours is beyond humbling.
7. You make sure I'm okay.
You would rather bombard me with texts than leave me alone if you know I'm upset. It is often too easy to ignore a problem than to fix it. I appreciate you caring enough to overstep social boundaries to ensure my well being.
8. You do stuff with me that you don't particularly enjoy.
You? At the mall? Yeah right. Unless I ask you to go with me. You? At an event? Yeah right. Unless I ask you to go with me. You? Stay longer at school? Yeah right. Unless I ask you to.
9. Pictures
You don't like pictures... but you let me take pictures of you anyways.You might give me a look... but you let it slide nonetheless.
10. You know my friends.
You've happily taken in some of my friends as your own. Some of them don't even go to the same university as us... yet you never complained about any of them. In fact, you were more than excited to get to know these people that I speak so fondly of.
11. Awesome getaways
You show me some of your favorite places to go in town.... either to take pictures or to dp homework. In fact, I have a hashtag dedicated to these adventures that entail breathtaking views.
