11 Reasons Why You Can't Wait To Go Back To School
Fresh Futures

It can be easy to forget what day it is during summer vacation. All of the traveling you have done has left you totally relaxed. Summer break is always something we look forward to, especially after a tough week of final exams. But there's always that point when you start to miss your campus. Here are 11 reasons why you're ready to head back now.

1. You miss your friends.

You miss staying up late and watching "PLL" ("Pretty Little Liars") together. You miss those nights out with the girls. Your best friend isn't down the hall anymore and it's driving you crazy. You're ready to go back to school to make more memories together.

2. You miss your dorm room.

Some people don't feel this way, but I do. I miss having roommates. I miss decorated walls and my sorority canvases. My room at home doesn't really fit my style anymore. I also have a cat that sheds so much fur it's ridiculous. I love getting to go back and setting up my new room each year.

3. You miss your campus.

High Point University has a gorgeous campus. There are plants and walkways everywhere. I miss being on campus and walking to class every day. I miss having a pool and a gym. It's time to go back and wander around some more.

4. You miss the food.

And 1924 Prime is calling my name! Prime is a steakhouse on campus and it is amazing. How does a filet and gourmet sides once a week sound? Sign me up! I can't wait to get back to school and make a reservation. It's so much fun to get dressed up and enjoy some fancy food. All of the other dining locations on campus are just as good. I cook every day at home and I'm really looking forward to someone else cooking for me again.

5. You kind of miss class.

To me, classes aren't really a burden anymore. I'm past my general electives and into my major specific classes. Once you get into your major classes, you start enjoying it. You are finally studying for your future. The work feels necessary compared to all of those electives that meant nothing to you. I truly miss learning and having something to work on. It reminds me that I'm one step closer to starting my career.

6. You miss being independent.

My parents have never been strict, but there are still certain things I can't do at home. At school however, I have all the freedom in the world. If I want to go to Cook Out at 3 a.m., no one's yelling at me for waking them up. After being home for a while, you miss not having to ask for permission. Being independent means that you can fix your own problems and do what you want. I'm ready to make my own rules again.

7. You miss your involvement.

You can get so busy at school. With sports, clubs and sororities taking up your time, there's so much excitement going around. I miss being involved on campus and having a busy schedule. It's fun to be apart of a sorority or a club on campus. You have events and meetings to go to. I get so bored at home with nothing to do. I appreciate my busy school days.

8. You ran out of Netflix shows.

In the summer when I'm bored at home, I usually watch Netflix or Hulu. So far, I have finished watching three new series and managed to re-watch all my favorites. I'm out of options for now. I need to be at school so I don't have so much time for Netflix. I'm watching shows dangerously fast right now. Can I please be back already?

9. You miss your second city.

While in college, you often get to know the area around your school. I live in a small town where everything is really far away. At school, every store I need is a 10 minute drive away. I love the city where my school is. There's so many different shops and stores. I can't wait to go back and visit all of my favorite spots in town.

10. You miss the nightlife.

There are parties every night in college. Each weekend another themed frat party gets you in trouble. It's fun to be young and careless while in college. The weekends are when you wind down and forget about work for a bit. You create hilarious memories with your friends and sometimes find yourself in the campus fountain at 12 a.m.

11. You love your school.

Your school spirit is through the roof. There's so much to love about your school. Everything about it makes you proud to be a student there. There's no doubt that you would do anything to represent your school well. The school takes such good care of you and you've developed personal relationships with your favorite staff members. You're ready to see everyone again and to go cheer on your sports teams throughout the new season.

Whatever has you missing your school, fear not because summer is almost over. Another year is about to start and you're ready to make the best of it. Get excited and get ready for another year of great memories and endless fun.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
