A lot of things change when you make the transition from high school senior to college freshman. A sad topic to think about is the friends you're not going to see everyday anymore whether it's on bus or at the Dunkin Donuts before that bell rings and the announcements turn on. You become paranoid of how you're going to find a whole new group of friends that are going to put up with your weird references, crazy laughs, and scary usage of memes and GIFs in that best friend group chat for the next four to five years. But one new friend that you can count on seeing hopefully everyday is your new, beautiful university library. In high school, a lot of students rarely ever used the library to study or do homework in. But in college, you'll surely see dozens of students cramming, talking, or just reading a good book every single day, Especially during midterm and final weeks where you have to rush out of your classes to make sure you get that one cubicle that you love ever so much. But studying isn't the only reason why your new library becomes your best friend in college.
1. The library hours.
Depending on where you go, the library has some bizarre times that fit your life perfectly, from opening at the same exact time as your dreaded 8 A.M. to closing at 2 A.M. And just when you need it most, right before that biology exam you know nothing about, except that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, the times get extended.
2. You'll meet some great new people.
Although making new friends at the library isn't exactly the most interesting story to talk about one day,you both will share that memory forever.
3. Work, Work, Work, Work, Work.
Being in the library basically forces you to put the loud music and YouTube videos and actually get some work done! Just think of it as your second mom in college, constantly pushing you to study.
4. Midnight snacks.
A midnight snack never felt so good after a long time of studying you can enjoy some well-needed coffee to keep you going. You can even get pizza delivered there!
5. The feeling.
Just going to the library in the first place makes you feel good about yourself and after you ace that exam, you'll feel even better.
6. Peace and quiet.
Sometimes in life you just need some quality, quiet time to yourself which can be pretty hard to find in college. But the library will always be there for you to vent in silence.
7. Levels to it.
The library usually has different levels of noise going from louder sounds to not a single sound at the beloved third floor. So no matter how loud or quiet you want to be theirs a place for you in the library's heart.
8. Study groups.
The library could not be a better place to study with your fellow failing classmates or work on that project due tomorrow.
9. Nap time.
The lack of noise is perfect for you to take a quick 20-minute power nap before grinding those last few notes out.
10. Alone time.
One of the best things is that you can rent out a study room, or get a whole cubicle just for yourself for as long you want.
11. Your best friend.
If you ever need a place to cry about how you still failed after staying up all night you can go to where the night started, your beloved library.
