11 Reasons To Be Thankful For Your Big Sister

Having an older sister in my life was definitely one of the best things to happen to me. That and the fact that we both now attend Michigan State University. Having a big sister is like having a best friend and role model around 24/7. A sister is a best friend that you know you'll never fall out of touch with. Older sisters will always accept you for who you are and be your biggest fan. At the end of the day she is proud to have you as her little sister.

1. Double The Wardrobe

Since you have a sister, automatically whatever you own is hers and whatever she owns is yours. Double the wardrobe means closet shopping all the time. Sharing clothes is the best even if she did take my Coach shoes to college for five months and forgot to tell me.

2. A Pig-Out Buddy

Who else would you go with to late night half-off Applebee's trips other than your very own sister? Whether it be 5 p.m. or 1 a.m., you know she will always be down to go grab food and have a feast with you.

3. A Shoulder To Cry

Whether it be boys or getting bullied at school, your sister will always be there to listen and defend you. Even if she is sleeping at 2 a.m.,and you are walking down the hall to her door bawling, she will be ready to accept you with open arms.

4. She Drives You Everywhere

As the big sister and being the older one means she got her licenses before you. You can never thank her enough for all the times she picked you up from parties and dropped you off at a friend's house. Oh and we can't forget driving you to and from school everyday so you didn't have to take the bus.

5. Someone To Bond With At Family Parties

We all know how boring family parties can be, but with your older sister by your side they can be a lot more bearable. While having a sister there, you can always joke about times you've had at parties or what happened at school earlier that day.

6. She's The Responsible One

Older sisters are always more responsible. Odds are if you want to go somewhere you just mention your sister is coming with you to your parents and it is an automatic yes.

7. A Cuddle Buddy

Rainy days are perfect for cuddling, but what happens when you don't have a boyfriend? Bingo, your sister. She'll be down to cuddle on the couch with you and watch romantic movies or even embarrassing home videos.

8. You ALWAYS Have Fun Together

Your older sister most likely brought you along to parties with her and you are forever thankful. Judging people at the party with your sister by your side is always more fun. Oh, and why go anywhere not together?

9. She Knows You Better Than Yourself

When your acting insane in a fight with your best friend, she will be the first person to tell you, you are wrong. What would you do without her?

10. All Her Friends Love You

Your sister's friends look at you as the little sister they never had. Secretly they wish they could be your friend instead because of how much cooler you are.

11. She Showed You What A True Friend Is

At the end of the day when you think everyone hates you, your sister will be right by your side. Even when everyone ditches you, she'll always be there to join you on an adventure. After all, she is your best friend and you have no idea what you would do without her.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
