11 Reasons Why Going Home For Spring Break Is The Best

Why should you go home when you could spend a week at the beach with your best friends?

Every year the question comes up: what should I do for spring break? Should my friends and I brave South Padre, road trip to California or party in Nola? While you stress over these plans, maybe you should take some time to consider going home for break.

1. You get to cuddle with your pets after not seeing them for months.

Because let’s be honest, kisses from puppies are better than kisses from anyone else (except maybe Zac Efron).

2. You finally get to eat home cooked food after months of eating in the dining hall.

Sure, it’s not an all you can eat buffet but you definitely forgot how good vegetables can taste.

3. You get to reunite with all your friends from your hometown.

That is, unless you decided to leave all of them behind when you went to college – in which case, you can spend your time avoiding everyone from your high school like the plague.

4. You can use this time to get ahead on homework.

Or don’t. I’m not your mom.

5. You can catch up on all the TV you were too busy to watch while you were at school.

This is your time to shine! Prove to your parents that you really can binge watch all of "Fuller House" in one day.

6. Your parents probably missed you a lot, meaning they’d do anything for you.

Now is the perfect time to ask for those new shoes you’ve been wanting for months.

7. You literally don’t have to take off your pajamas for 10 days.

If you still make an effort to look nice at school and haven’t resorted to the uniform of Nike shorts and sorority t-shirts, this is your chance to look like a slob for an entire week.

8. You can sleep in until noon. Every. Single. Day.

No school, no work and no plans. That means no alarms. Time to get your beauty sleep.

9. You get to go back to all the places you used to love as a kid.

Go back to that cute ice cream shop or that old movie theater. No matter where it is, relish in the nostalgia that comes along with being home.

10. You can use this time to schedule all those appointments you’ve needed to go to for far too long.

This isn’t the most fun way to spend your time, but it’s necessary. Get your teeth cleaned, have that weird rash checked out. If you’re lucky, maybe you can even schedule a massage.

11. Most importantly, you get to spend time with the people who mean the most to you.

Even if they may irritate you sometimes, you know your family is the most important thing in the world. Use your time at home to show your family how much you truly love them. Bond with your siblings, kiss your parents goodnight and cherish the time you have with them because you know it will be months before you see them again.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
