11 Reasons Dogs Are Better Than Humans

I personally think that everyone should have a dog. I have a boxer (pictured up there; she's the cutest), and she's my best friend on this planet. Sure, they're a lot of work, and they can be annoying sometimes. But look at everything you're getting in return. Nowhere else will you find the love and loyalty that you find in a dog.

If you're a dog person like me, awesome. Check out these adorable dog gifs. If you're not a dog person, here are 11 reasons why you SHOULD BE a dog person. Because dogs are way better than any human I've ever met.

1. They get excited about everything.

If you're ever in a bad mood, just start jumping around and watch how excited your dog gets. Their excitement will automatically make you feel better.

2. They're always down to cuddle.

If your dog's excitement doesn't make you feel better, lay down on the couch and wait for them to join you for a nap. There's nothing better than napping with a big furry warm pup.

3. They'll protect you from danger. Even if that danger is their own reflection.

As a girl, I'm always pretty nervous when I'm by myself. Before I got my boxer, I was terrified when I had to shower if I was home alone. I don't have that fear anymore because I know there's a 60-pound bark box in the next room that will alert me if anything is out of the ordinary.

4. You can teach them to do whatever you want.

How many of you have successfully trained a human? I didn't think so.

5. They're always there for comfort when you need them.

If you just broke up with your significant other, or you got fired from your job, go home to your dog. They can sense your emotions and will do everything in their power to make you feel better.

6. They're just as lazy as you are...

We all have those days where it seems like too much effort to get out of bed. With a dog, that's fine. They're perfectly content to jump up there with you and stay until the next day.

7. But they're down for a walk if you're feeling motivated.

BUT if you're feeling energetic, take them on a walk. They will love it, and you both get the benefit of exercise!

8. Seriously though. The amount of energy they have is contagious.

I wish I had half the energy that my boxer had.

9. They find joy in the simplest of things.

Humans are so hard to please. Dogs aren't. Don't believe me? Give your dog a water bottle or an old Tupperware bowl and see how long they play with it.

10. They'll never forget about you. Whether you're gone 10 minutes or 3 years, they're always excited for your return.

Whenever you're away from your dog, the amount of love they show you when they see you again is amazing. They think you're the greatest thing in life. Leave your girlfriend/boyfriend and don't talk to them for a few days. See who is happier: your significant other or the dog.

11. And even though they're only in your life for a short amount of time, the love they bring into your heart will last forever. For the years that they are with you, you are their world. No human loves that completely.

*cue the sap*
You will never know a better friend than a dog. You create such a crazy and strong bond with this four-legged creature in the years that you care for them. They have such a will to please you and be the best companion they can be. It's like they're a best friend and a child all wrapped into one drooling package. And at the end of the day, it's hard to tell whether you're taking care of the dog or they're taking care of you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
