To wear make up or to not wear make up? That is a question that most girls, and boys even, ask themselves almost every day. Some of us, choose to wear make up more often than not, while some of us choose to seldom wear it. Regardless of which fits your lifestyle, you can say that when you do choose to wear make up you probably choose to wear lipstick, lip stain or lip gloss at least sometimes.
After talking with some friends, including fellow BGSU Odyssey writer, Katelyn Eisenmann, on and off about lipstick I have realized something: it is a secret weapon. When I put lipstick on, I immediately feel more excited about life, as a way to put it. It is nice to look in the mirror and see a beautiful color on your face that you like, and that makes you feel more confident in whatever you are going to conquer that day. At least, that is what it does for me. It can make you feel alive. As a secret weapon, lipstick is something you can pull out whenever you feel like you need to, for a boost or pick me up. As a result of realizing this, I have compilied 11 different quotes related to lipstick and the positivity that I believe surrounds it.
1.
Confidence is important, lipstick or no lipstick.
2.
For me this is true. I guess you could also say, "the brighter the lips, the greater number of selfies!"
3.
Most definitely, it helps make this happen.
4.
Buy lipstick.. and ice cream... and candy... and anything else that brings you joy.
5.
Or pink, purple or any other color you enjoy.

No explanation needed.
7.
Keep 'em guessing.
8.

9.

10.

11.
Live out loud.
Lipstick really and truly is a secret weapon. It can make you feel more confident, strong and put together. It is a simple cosmetic that can have a positive impact on one's life, as cheesy as that may sound.
Make up, in general, should not be looked at as something taboo, and those that wear it should not be as ridiculed like they are at times. Each and every girl and boy should feel comfortable in their own skin, and I hope that they all eventually do in life, as we know that is hard to achieve. However, if they want to wear make up that alters their appearance to an extent, they should be able to with no issue and should not be told that because of it, they don't love themselves just the way they are. Make up is a form of art, as well as an avenue of self expression, and may help someone to build their confidence level in how they look to themselves and the rest of the world.
So go on, girls and boys -- wear as much or as little lipstick, lip gloss, lip stain and other cosmetics as you would like. Try to show the world your originality to the best of your ability, and if that means showing off your make up application talents, go right on ahead. If that means doing something else with light make up on, that is perfectly OK, too.
