A night spent watching a stand-up comedy special can go one of two ways. You sit down with your roommates, and after 20 minutes of browsing Netflix you finally decide to put faith in one random comedian none of you have ever watched before. In the first scenario, you’re hooked from the intro, laughing at all the comedic pauses and turning to your friend every few jokes saying, “that is so true.” But, in the other scenario, you end up watching about 35 minutes of some stand-up, chosen at random, that you’re just not clicking with, forcing laughter and wondering if the other people in the room actually think this is funny.
Wouldn’t you have loved to have a few suggestions at a time like that? Well, here you have it, folks -- according to my not-so-expert opinion -- 11 Netflix stand-up specials that won't disappoint.
11. "Women Who Kill."
Featuring Amy Schumer, Rachel Feinstein, Nikki Glaser and Marina Franklin. Whoever said female comedians aren't funny has never seen this special.
10. "Anthony Jeselnik: Thoughts and Prayers."
This guy does not believe in the phrase, "too soon." I don't know if I'm laughing because it's funny or because I feel so awkward after whatever he just said. Either way, I'm laughing.
9. "Chris D'elia: Incorrigible."
The comedian that laughs at his own jokes, but you love it.
8. "Kevin Hart: I'm a Grown Little Man."
Classic Kevin Hart.
7. "Jim Gaffigan: Mr. Universe."

Just the perfect level of self-deprecation.
6. "John Mulaney: New in Town."
You're going to relate to this, even if you won't admit it.
5. "Bo Burnham: what."
Quite possibly the strangest one-hour program I have ever watched. "what." is far from your usual stand-up experience, but Bo Burnham is comedic gold from start to finish.
4. "Zach Galifianakis Live at the Purple Onion."
This is exactly what you would expect a Zach Galifianakis stand-up special to be like -- hilarious and slightly uncomfortable.
3. "Demetri Martin: Live at The Time."
Demetri Martin is the kind of comedian that says everything you're always thinking, and who doesn't love that?
2. "Aziz Ansari: Buried Alive."
Of all his stand-ups available on Netflix, Aziz Ansari's "Buried Alive" takes the cake.
1. "Louis CK: Chewed Up."
Louis CK reiterates every negative thought you've ever had, but in the funniest way possible.
