The toys we played with, and the things we did, had its time of fame. Here are a few things we 90’s kids had or did that are no longer really “a thing.”
1. We played with this thing called a game-boy 24/7.
Remember when those were really popular?
2. We had portable CD players instead of iPods.
We actually had to buy the CD, and put it in a CD player to walk around and listen to our favorite music.
3. Pokemon were collected with paper cards.
You may have once traded and collected these cards. And no, you didn't have to walk all around your city to find each of them.
4. We had video cassettes that we had to rewind after watching.
And if when we forgot to rewind them, the next time we watched the movie, it would start at the credits.
5. We actually had to physically go to a movie rental to watch more movies.
Nope, we didn't have Netflix.
6. We had to use an actual camera to take all photos.
Cameras weren't always on phones.
7. Cell phones were basically only used for calling people.
There once wasn't all the extra perks and details that came with phones.
8. Mom always found and pulled out the video camera for every event.
Now we can pull out our phones.
9. Tapes. Remember those?
They are slowly being forgotten, I think.
10. We had cool and unique candy.
We had things like push-pops and bubble-tape come out.
11. We spent more time outside.
There weren't too many electronics to keep us occupied. Therefore, we spent more time outdoors, playing and talking to each other.
Today's kids are only told of the struggles and good memories that came with living in a small part of the 20th century.
