One of the most underrated things about the Obama presidency is his vice president, Joe Biden. Joe is arguably the best person in Washington, namely because his great personality has been made so apparent. He makes us forget he’s a politician, and I honestly feel like we’re best friends. The Internet is full of awesome pictures and videos of him and some of his mishaps, which end up making us all love him more. On top of it all, Joe Biden has an incredible life story, filled with tragedy, which he has taken and reenergized into important initiatives. What’s not to love?
The list could easily go on, but here are 11 of my favorite things about Vice President Joe Biden.
1. Joe was great looking in his youth.
Unsurprisingly. And he uses his old pictures for great #tbts. Give him a follow, @vp
2. When he was young, he had a stutter.
He fixed it by himself by reciting poetry in front of a mirror.
3. He met his first wife on spring break in the Bahamas.
There’s hope for all of us.
4. Biden also graduated towards the bottom of his class in undergrad and law school.
Again, there’s hope for all of us.
5. The VP had brain surgery and was told there was a fairly low chance he would live a normal life afterwards.
Yet look at him go.
6. Joe Biden has spoken out publicly regarding sexual assault on college campuses, bringing deserved awareness to the subject.
He spoke at this year’s Oscar awards about the horrifying topic, while introducing Lady Gaga.
7. He likes ice cream a lot.
I resonate with that.
8. He is the leader of the Cancer Moonshot Task Force, a project with an end goal of completing 10 years of cancer research, in just five years.
Biden, obviously touched by the passing of his son Beau from the disease, will work to break down barriers among different fields to ensure information is being shared effectively.
9. Joe Biden doesn’t drink.
Alcoholism runs in his family, yet he still seems like the most fun person to be at a party with.
10. He basically rocks Ray Bans every time he makes a public appearance.
11. And never forget the 2014 State of the Union Address, where Joe Biden was the real star.
