Eyes On Screen

If you’re anything like me, after eating about a thousand pounds of food within a few hours, you curled up on your couch, opened up your Netflix tab, and tuned into the show that feels closer to a warm hug than any cup of hot chocolate ever could: "Gilmore Girls".

The beloved classic has recently made a comeback with a four-episode revival and life couldn’t be any sweeter. Here are a few quotes that’ll brighten your day while also making you feel ridiculously nostalgic.

1.“As long as everything is exactly the way I want it, I can be totally flexible.” – Lorelai Gilmore

With her slightly controlling, but equally as loveable nature, I don’t think any quote describes the infamous Lorelai better.

2.“What she tackles, she conquers.” - Richard Gilmore

A beautiful quote from a truly beautifully portrayed character. His presence was definitely missed in the revival.

3.“This thing we’re doing here, you, me. I’m in. I’m all in.” – Luke Danes

The moment that had every fan basically falling out of their seats with relief: Luke and Lorelai are finally together, and all is right in the world.

4.“That makes me so mad. And so sad. I’m smad.” – Sookie

Oh, Sookie, what a cutie.

5.“That’s all any of us wants, to find someone nice to hang out with us ‘till we drop dead. Not a lot to ask for.” – Lorelai Gilmore

Most accurate statement I’ve heard in awhile.

6.“It’s your choice, Ace. People can live a hundred years without really living for a minute. You climb up here with me, it’s one less minute you haven’t lived.” – Logan Huntzberger

Even though he was my least favorite out of Rory’s numerous boy toys, this quote is pretty insightful and captures Logan’s adventurous spirit.

7.“One of those moments that everything is so perfect and so wonderful that you almost feel sad because nothing can ever be this good again.” – Rory Gilmore

I’m sure we’ve all felt this one from time to time.

8.“I’m afraid once your heart’s involved, it all comes out in moron.” – Lorelai Gilmore

Once again, Lorelai speaks the truth.

9.“People are particularly stupid today. I can’t talk to anymore of them.” – Michele

Occasionally, I want to put this quote on a t-shirt.

10.“I live in two worlds, one is a world of books.” – Rory Gilmore

Rory was never perfect but her thoughts on books were always spot on.

11.“Oy with the poodles already!” – Lorelai Gilmore

I think this one can speak for itself.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
