Summer — the sun is shining, the birds are singing and the college students are finally free to shed their books and indulge in some summer fun! Everybody knows that summer is one of the best times of year. (No tests! No required reading!) It can still stir some confusing feelings — for example, am I happy or sad that I'm going three months without seeing my roommates? Here are the eleven summer feelings that every college student experiences during their break.
1. It's finally here! I did it!
Wow! You finally survived all your finals, wrote that last paper, and never have to see that one awful professor again! Time to take some time to relax and enjoy.
2. But first, a three-day long nap, wherever you can find the space.
3. Whoo! Now it's time to tackle all that summer has to offer — lounging by the pool...
4. Finally, reading a book that you actually enjoy (not one that's assigned to you)...
5. And of course, the barbecues, popsicles and watermelon.
6. Knowing that you have three entire stress-free months to soak it all in.
You know your chill is on point when you don't have to freak out about what next week's exam is going to have on it.
7. Catching up with friends from high school, family and, most importantly, a bed that isn't a twin XL.
How many people have slept on that horrible thing at school? Wait, then again, don't tell me. I don't want to know.
8. But wait! No school means no work study. It's time to head back to minimum wage Hell.
Whether it's flipping burgers, chasing little kids around a backyard or folding sweaters, you're going to wish you had that cushy desk job back. Unless you're one of the lucky ones who also has a nice adult job over the summers, in which case, you go!
9. And while your high school friends are great, they just don't get all your crazy college adventures.
I guess you had to be there.
