11 Video Games Every Gamer Needs To Try In Their Lifetime

If you're a gamer, some of them may make you angry.

I consider myself a pretty big gamer, but I'm rather picky when it comes to video games. So, I've decided to compile my pickiness and relative "experience" into a list of my 11 favorite video games of all time.

11. Telltale's Minecraft Story Mode

Minecraft is one of the world's most popular games, allowing users to create any world they can dream of. Why not expand on that by taking one of the world's most popular game, and giving it an amazing adventure campaign?

10. Battlefield Bad Company 2

Battlefield is one of the world's most prestigious first person shooters, and Bad Company 2 holds some of my fondest memories. Nothing is better than hopping in a helicopter with four buddies in the jungles of Vietnam as you mow down enemies left and right.

9. Grand Theft Auto: V

Rob banks? Steal cars? See how long you can last with endless cops chasing you? Grand Theft Auto V has it all for you. Nothing is better than sharing controllers with my roommates in the living room, seeing who can live the longest.

8. Star Wars Battlefront II (PS2 Edition)

Don't get me wrong, the remake coming out this year looks fantastic, but nothing beats picking your personal Clone, shipping into battle, and destroying droids on the class PlayStation 2 system. Battlefield 2 will go down as one of the best video games of all time.

7. Gears of War 3

I wasn't originally a fan of the Gears of War series when I began, but watching the conclusion of the COG's story in Gears of War 3 wasn't just satisfying, it was bittersweet. Luckily, Gears of War 4 let's me live vicariously through all their children.

6. The Last of Us

This is no surprise, The Last of Us is one of the best video games of all time with one of the most unique and immersive storylines of all time. Joel and Ellie are THE dynamic duo of video games and their continuous development is one for the books.

5. Uncharted 2: Drake's Deception

Nathan Drake is the world's most notorious treasure hunter, and I loved all 4 games almost equally. However, Uncharted 2 really clicked with me as I chased the mysterious Shangri-La of Marco Polo's travels.

4. Halo Reach

The campaign for Halo Reach didn't really wow me as I played it, but the multiplayer sure did. I spent hours upon hours playing multiplayer, making new friends, and gunning for achievements all day. Not to mention, Halo Reach is a game that launched a lot of famous gamers into the spotlight, including Rooster Teeth's Achievement Hunters, a personal favorite.

3. Assassin's Creed II

Widely known as the best Assassin's Creed game to date, the beginning story for Ezio is one I keep coming back to. As a history buff, Assassins' Creed is one of my favorite franchises, and Ezio's beginning story takes the cake as the best story in this amazing franchise.

2. Call of Duty: Black Ops

According to my Xbox, I've spent over 300 hours alone in this game, one of my favorite of all time. Black Ops is one of the most immersive and unique stories in the unfortunately repetitive Call of Duty series. Mason takes us on a journey through Vietnam, but the hours I spent in Nazi Zombies and multiplayer will forever hold some of my favorite memories with friends on Xbox Live.

1. L.A. Noire

I've beat L.A. Noire five times, and each time is completely different from the last. L.A. Noire is known for its pioneering technology in facial features and choice gameplay. As you work your way up the LAPD force as Detective Cole Phelps, you can't help but get connected to his amazing story. I keep hoping Rockstar Games makes me a sequel.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
