As we welcome fall, the smell of pumpkin spice lattes and dried up leaves fill the crisp cool air. It is my absolute favorite season. Instead of sitting at home on these beautiful, cool fall days try these creative and romantic fall date ideas. You will have something to do on the days and nights of this fall season!

1. Make a bonfire and complete it with s'mores

What's better than snuggling up next to a bonfire and making tasty treats? Nothing I can think of.

2. Carve pumpkins together

Go to your local grocery store and grab a couple pumpkins, or make a trip out to the pumpkin patch. You can even make a competition out of it and see who can carve the best pumpkin!

3. Go through as many corn mazes as you can find

With as much farm land as we have in the Valley, there are many different corn mazes to check out. Try them all and see if you can make it through. Time yourselves for fun!

4. Make caramel apples

Who doesn't love a good caramel apple. You could make this even more fun and go apple picking first and use those. Buy/make different toppings for each one and get creative.

5. Try every fall item on the Starbucks menu

From pumpkin spice lattes to Chile mocha, you have a wide variety of delicious fall drinks to try. Make sure to grab a pumpkin muffin or pumpkin scone, too!

6. Watch scary movies on a cold night

Choose a variety of your favorite scary Halloween movies, set up a room complete with blankets, popcorn, drinks, etc. and watch them all night!

7. Check out all the fall festivals

There are many festivals to check out around this time of year. See how many you can make it to.

8. Go to haunted houses

Make a list of all the haunted houses in the area and tour them all. See which one is the scariest.

9. Have a picnic under the trees

Grab your hot apple cider with cinnamon stick straws and a blanket and sit under the trees and watch the leaves fall.

10. Go on a color drive

On the extra chilly days, hop in your car and go on a color drive. Up in the mountains or even here in town. The colors are beautiful everywhere.

11. Get a cup of coffee and walk main street

Grab a hot drink from one of the local coffee shops downtown and walk main street. Check out all the cool little stores, breathe in the crisp fall air, and enjoy the colors.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
