Living in Ohio, I have heard the sentence, “I am so bored, there is never anything to do in Ohio,” far more than once. Even I’m even guilty of saying that whenever I get bored. Being a lover of music and adventure, I decided to go to Ticket Master to see if there are any concerts coming up near Toledo, Ohio that sounded worth my time and money. To my pleasant surprise, there are so many good concerts coming up that I couldn’t help but buy tickets for a handful. Yes, concerts can be pretty pricey nowadays, so I have complied a list of great shows that won’t break the bank for my fellow college students!
1. The Neighbourhood
With hits that flooded the radio such as “Sweater Weather” and “Female Robbery,” this American band has the sound that’s a mix of indie and rock. They are going to be playing in Columbus at the Newport Music Hall and in Cleveland at the House of Blues for only $25!
2. Oh Wonder!
This is a newer band that is taking the internet by storm with their mellow and grooving alternative pop sound and genuine songs. They started this duo by releasing their album as one song every month in 2015. You can go and see them in Columbus at the Wexner Center for the Arts for only $18.
3. Weezer & Panic at the Disco!
This duo is a perfect fit together because of their similar alternative, punk rock sound and style. Go and see them in Detroit at the DTE Energy Music Theater for only $18!
4. Florence and the Machine
With an indie pop sound and outstandingly breathtaking voice, Florence from Florence and the Machine is someone who you shouldn’t miss. Go check them out at DTE Energy Music Theater in Detroit for $25.
5. B.o.B.
Do you remember the songs “Nothing on You” and “Airplanes?” Well, they were sang by B.o.B.! He is an American hip-hop rapper who is performing at The Shelter in Detroit for only $20.
6. Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa
This rap duo is hitting the road with 33 booked events throughout the United States and they are coming through DTE Energy Music Theater in Detroit. Get your ticket today for $31.
7. Zac Brown Band
If you’re a country fan, does the song “Chicken Fried” ring a bell for you? Catch the song live at DTE Energy Music Theater for $28.50.
8. 311
This reggae rock band is hitting the stage in Sterling Heights, Michigan, at the Freedom Hill Amphitheater for only $25.
9. Sublime
Sublime has been around since 1988 and is traveling the United States to spread their sound of reggae rock once again! They're coming to Sterling Heights at the Freedom Hill Amphitheater for $25.50.
10. Dave Matthews Band
Performing since 1991, Dave Matthews Band is bring their American rock sound to Clarkston, Michigan, at the DTE Energy Music Theater for $36.50.
11. Vans Warped Tour
Last, but certainly not least, there is the Vans Warped Tour! Yes, these tickets are the most expensive, starting at $30.50, but it's because this is not only one concert. Instead, it's 75+ bands performing within a single day. They will be setting up on all seven stages in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Auburn Hills, Michigan, this August and you really shouldn’t miss out!
