We all know college can be hard. Sometimes the weight of everything is just so heavy and we need a pick-me-up. Between school, work, extracurricular activities, and everything else you could ever imagine, the only thing that seems to weigh against the storm is the word of God.

1. "And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail." - Isaiah 58:11

Where God guides, He provides.

2. "But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me..." - 2 Timothy 4:17

He is with you and He makes you strong.

3. "God can restore what is broken and change it into something amazing. All you need is faith." - Joel 2:25

With faith in God, we can become whole.

4. "...though the mountains may crumble, you will not..." - Isaiah 54:10

The Lord of all creation will sustain you. He will keep you together in times of trouble and strife.

5. "I chose you. I wanted you. I appointed you. I set you where you are." - John 15:16

You are not in your current situation for no reason, you were put where you are for a purpose - even if you don't quite understand the purpose.

6. "...perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created." - Esther 4:14

You purpose in and through God sometimes lies where you least expect it to.

7. "I have called you by name; you are Mine." - Isaiah 42:1

He knows you and loves you. He named you His before you even had a name to be given.

8. "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer." - Romans 12:12

Remember these things when you get stressed, when you feel like everything at school is weighing you down.

9. "The grass withers and flowers fade, but the word of the Lord stands forever." - Isaiah 40:8

Today will pass, tomorrow will pass. Your test will pass and so will that paper or that research project. The Lord is forevermore.

10. "Jesus replied, 'You don't understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.'" - John 13:7

The stress of life is sometimes unexplained, but one day you will realize why it was worth it.

11. "He does not treat us as our sins deserve." - Psalms 103:10

After all, He loves you. He knew you before you were born. He loves you as much today as He did yesterday - all sin aside.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
