Middle School. It was the best of days and the worst of days, but mostly the worst. If you are anything like me then middle school is best remembered through music. Songs seemed so important to some of us and even shaped our middle school identities. Here is a list of the 11 songs that I know will be stuck in your head again by the end of this list.

1. "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence

If you claim you don't know this song then you are lying. We all jammed back to this song back in the day....... Wait for it..... WAKE ME UP!

2. "Crank That" by Soulja Boy Tell'Em

If this song doesn't scream middle school dances and the worst dancing you've ever seen then you missed out.

3. "Welcome To The Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance

Now let's be honest. Any My Chemical Romance probably deserves a spot on this list but this song's iconic opening will even have you reciting every word without fail.

4. "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers

This song is still relevant. Played at almost every party I've ever been to, this song ignites nostalgia like none other. I don't think middle school me understood the lyrics to this at all though....

5. "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga

For when we were feeling super edgy we could put on this tune and lament about our failed love lives and how we were going to die alone. If only middle school me realized how right they were.

6. "Not Afraid" by Eminem

For when the haters just got to be too much and you had to prove to everyone you were hard. Just spit a couple lines of this iconic song and impress everyone.

7. "Hot N Cold" by Katy Perry

If this song doesn't perfectly describe middle school relationships and encapsulate what it was like to be in middle school then I might just have to keep jamming to some old Katy. Forget old Kanye, Old Katy is where it's at.

8. "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne

As middle schoolers we really were obsessed with relationships.... Just another spited lover ballad for all your rejected middle school dance experiences.

9. "Give You Hell" by The All-American Rejects

I'm starting to see a troubling trend here.... Why do middle schoolers have so much hate stored up in their heart towards past or failed flames.

10. "Thnks fr th Mmrs" by Fall Out Boy

Okay. I'm actually getting worried now. We took relationships way too seriously... Regardless. Some classic Fall Out Boy never fails to get the blood pumping.

11. "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" by Panic At The Disco!

Saving the best for last we have this quintessential middle school ballad. Again we dwell on spited lovers but we all know the real allure of this song came from being able to say the forbidden "goddamn" and no one know.

These are some of the songs that sum up my middle school experience. What about you? Let me know what songs I missed!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
