10 Ways To Spend Your Thanksgiving Break

Questioning what to do during break? You have a WEEK of free time. You're going from being busy every day with classes, meetings, study groups and chapter to doing nothing. What a beautiful thing. So if you're struggling with how to spend your days, here are a few things to fill the gap :)

1. Sleep (all day everyday)

Just go ahead and bring me my Thanksgiving food to my room because this girl is trying to catch up on all the sleep that she's lost since Summer.

2. Binge watch Netflix

You can easily get through half a new series if you binge watch it. But if you are waiting until winter break to start a new series, just remember that The Hannah Montana Movie, Holes, and Sky High are all on Netflix rn :))

3. EAT

Nothing is more beautiful than coming home... to your favorite local restaurant. 'Cause I mean home is where the heart is, right? (and your mothers cooking) <3 Brb while I gain 5 pounds being home for break.

4. Visit your hometown friends

If most of your friends go to different colleges, than you know that there is nothing more beautiful than coming home for break since you'll all finally be back together again. Time to spend all of break together <3

5. Walk your dog

Okay now if you wanna get a little exercise over break to balance out all the food you're gonna eat, why not take your dog on a walk? Bring a friend with you and you won't get bored or anything. It'll be fun. Plus your lil nug will be happy that you're home and they'll wanna spend so much time with you.

6. Make a new playlist

Whether you're making one for Thanksgiving break, a study one to prepare for finals or one to listen to during car rides when you hangout with your hometown friends

7. Read a new book

A good way to relax during break is to read a good new book. You won't get bored and there are only so many times you can re-fresh Instagram and Twitter before you get annoyed.

8. Visit friends that are still in school

A fun way to spend the weekend before Thanksgiving (if you have a week off) is to visit your not-so-fortunate friends that get out a day or 2 before break. You get to see them and experience a weekend at their school.

9. Get the Christmas decorations out

Okay I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet but it's never too early to start decorating! You better be playing Christmas music too during break. T-MINUS 1 MONTH AND 3 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS PEEPS!!!!

10. Shopping!

I mean you need a few days to get together that Black Friday list and plan together, right? (be sure to look for me. I'll be the first one in the Target line waiting to get in ;)).

So no matter how you choose to spend your time at home, you'll love it. And remember, spending it sleeping the whole break is fine and honestly probably every other college student will be doing that too.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
