I know, I know. It's a known fact that basically everyone hates Mondays. It's almost impossible to get out of bed after a weekend of rest and relaxation, and you are dreading going to work or class. But the truth is, Mondays have always and will always exist. If you are one of many who hates Mondays, I'm here to help you get through them with a few simple steps.
Step 1: Alarm Clocks
Set your alarm 10-15 minutes earlier than normal. This will allow you to have more time to wake up and get ready, and you won't need to rush or stress about being late. You'll be amazed at how much more relaxed you will be if you just give yourself more time in the morning.
Step 2: Breakfast
First things first: breakfast. Many people skip breakfast in the mornings because they don't have time. Make sure you plan a big, healthy breakfast to keep your stomach happy until lunch time. It really is the most important meal of the day.
Step 3: Good Music

Step 4: A Great Outfit
Now it's time to get dressed. I always feel more confident when I'm wearing an outfit that I love and think I look great in. Pick out an outfit Sunday night that will make you feel excited to go to work or class and show it off on Monday. Planning out your outfit will also cut off time that you would have spent trying to find one in the morning.
Step 5: An Energy Boost
If you're still feelings a little groggy by the time you're about to leave, drink a cup of coffee to boost your energy. If you're not a coffee drinker, think about trying a green tea. It has caffeine in it and is extremely good for you!
Step 6: Positive Thinking
Make sure you go into the day thinking positively. If you have negative thoughts, chances are, you won't have the best day. Who knows, maybe you'll even get that promotion you've been wanting for so long! Or get a test back that you studied so hard for, and get an A.
Step 7: Goals
Set Goals. Going into the day having a to-do-list will make it more efficient. When you start crossing off things on the list that you needed to do, you will start to feel accomplished and proud of yourself. If you don't finish everything on your list, that's OK! Just move it over to the next day's to-do-list.
Step 8: Motivation
Motivational quotes always help me if I'm ever feeling lazy or unmotivated. I've learned that Pinterest has a ton of good quotes that help pick me up on a Monday morning. There's also a account on Twitter called "Monday Motivation" that posts pictures and quotes to help get you through the day.
Step 9: Make Plans
Plan something fun with friends for when you're done with classes for the day or when work ends. A lot of people wait for the weekend to plan events, but why wait? Plan to go to dinner or take a walk in the park at sunset. That way, you will have something to look forward to throughout your day!
Step 10: You're Not Alone
Lastly, remember that we're all in this together. Everyone has to get up on Monday morning, and it's tough, but you will get through it; I promise. Anyways, the weekend is only four short days away. You got this!
