Many of us work, go to school, balance our relationships with our family/friends/significant others, and try to do it all at once. In our society, we are overworked, stressed, and can't seem to take a break from it all. Here are some ways you can take a break whether you have time or no time at all:

1. Find an extracurricular activity that interests you.

This could be a book club, sports team, band, or anything that you desire! Doing something that you have interest in will make this activity fun and help you to forget everything else going on in your life temporarily.

2. Take a short weekend-long vacation.

I'm well aware that this may not be possible for everyone, but if you find the chance to get away for just a couple of days it can really help you de-stress! Examples may be just traveling a few hours away and staying at a nice hotel. Traveling doesn't have to be extravagant, it just has to be a good break from your daily life.

3. Take a hot shower or bath.

If you are stressed out and at home make sure to try this relaxing technique! Allowing yourself time to step away from whatever you were doing can help cleanse your mind (and body in this case). Who doesn't feel a little more put together after rinsing off?

4. Go out to eat by yourself or with a group of friends.

If you're like me, time alone can be healing. Try going to your favorite restaurant alone. If you like being with others when stressed out, gather a group of friends and head out for the night!

5. Organize your work space.

Let's be honest, if we are overworked, our workspace is going to show it. Take a few minutes to straighten everything up. Having a visually cleaner workspace has proven to increase productivity.

6. Give your furry friends some love.

Cats, dogs, gerbals - no matter what animal it is, if you find joy in interacting with animals, do it!

7. Explore a new spot in your town/city.

This could be a restaurant, park, store, or anything else that is new to you! New interests may spark, and the exploration will surely give you a break.

8. Watch your favorite show or movie.

Nothing makes you feel better than your favorite show or movie to watch! Get in your comfy clothes and lay back to unwind from the day.

9. Put in some earbuds and listen to music.

Disconnecting from the world via your favorite tunes sounds like a great break, doesn't it?

10. Take a walk.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
