I'm a reader. Yes, I read for fun. I know that us "read-for-fun-ers" are becoming a dying breed, but something that is saving our population are books turned to movies. We love to compare books to their respective movies, and I'm a fan of the "book before movie" method. In order of movie release date, here are 10 books that you should read in order to ready yourself for their movie premieres.
1. "Mockingjay" by Suzanne Collins
Release Date: Nov. 20, 2015.
The only way that you haven't heard of the "Hunger Games" series must be if you were killed in the Hunger Games yourself. This series ranks up there with "Twilight," "Divergent," and some might even say it's the "Harry Potter" of its time. You'll definitely want to find out Katniss, Peeta, and Gale's fate from Collins before you see it on the big screen in "Mockingjay Part 2."
2. "How to be Single" by Liz Tuccillo
Release Date: Feb. 12, 2016
A book/movie about being single? I've never read this book but I'm assuming its probably my life story written on paper. The book is about six characters all learning how to be single in New York City. The film adaptation will also feature Rebel Wilson, so that's exciting. Sounds like a perfect romcom to me.
3. "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks

Are you always in search of another Nicholas Sparks romance novel to bring you to tears? Why not try "The Choice," centered around two neighbors living in a coastal town whose "relationship is tested by life's most defining events." Sounds like a tear-jerker to me.
4. "Allegiant" by Veronica Roth
Release Date: March 18, 2016
Again, you won't want to miss the end of the "Divergent" trilogy. We've been following Tris since she chose Dauntless as her faction and now we've got to see her and Four through to the end. Like "Mockingjay," better to read the epic ending from Roth in your bedroom than freak out in a movie theater full of strangers.
5. "Inferno" by Dan Brown
Release Date: Oct. 14, 2016
Dan Brown has brought us some of the best mystery thrillers, including "Angels and Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code," and he has done it once again with "Inferno." After waking up in a hospital room in Florence, Italy, with no memory of what has occurred for the last few days, Robert Langdon suddenly finds himself the target of a manhunt. Langdon then has to escape whilst solving the most intricate riddle he's ever faced.
6. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" by J.K. Rowling
Release Date: Nov.18, 2016
That's right friends, our obsession with "Harry Potter" can continue. "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" is a spinoff of the HP series and follows Newt Scamander, author of the book, 70 years before our favorite wizard heads to Hogwarts. Just in case you thought it couldn't get any better, get this. Eddie Redmayne is starring.
7. "Let It Snow" by John Green
Release Date: Dec. 9, 2016
John Green had us hooked since "The Fault in Our Stars" and things just kept getting better with the release of "Paper Towns." "Let It Snow" is a compilation of interconnected short winter/holiday themed stories that will have you singing "All I want for Christmas is...for my life to be a love story written by John Green."
8. "Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children" by Ransom Riggs
Release Date: Dec. 25, 2016
Directed by Tim Burton, "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" follows the story of teenager, Jacob, who finds himself on a mysterious island at the ruins of Miss Peregrine's Home for Children. As he searches the halls, he discovers more about these children and the powers they possessed.
9. "Looking For Alaska" by John Green
Release Date: TBD 2016
That's right, our man John Green just can't get enough of the big screen, but we aren't mad about it. "Looking for Alaska" is about two students who fall in love at boarding school. I don't know about you, but I am always down for a good teenage romance.
10. "Eleanor and Park" by Rainbow Rowell

"Eleanor and Park" is one of my all-time favorite books. The storyline revolves around the young love of two kids who meet on the school bus. They have a love that I can only wish for. The story is heart-wrenching and adorable at the same time. A director hasn't been chose yet but Rowell has assured readers that the film is on the way.
Some of these films aren't being release for at least a year, so there is plenty of time to read up before they hit theaters!
