Nothing is worse than when your favorite TV show gets cancelled or when one of the shows you grew up on suddenly doesn't exist anymore. Over my life, I've been through my fair share of TV series and shows. Here's my list of the top 10 shows that I wish were still on TV.
1. "Wife Swap"
For those who don't remember or never experienced the entertainment of watching an episode (or five) of "Wife Swap," I'm sorry. Although my mom referred to it as "garbage," this was one of my favorite shows to watch simply because it was so entertaining and, most of the time, ridiculous. Each episode followed two families who "swapped" their wife/mother for two weeks. The first week, the family would follow their normal life and schedule. The second week, the new wife/mother would make their own rules and changes. And of course the families were always complete opposites.
2. "Rugrats"
This was one of my favorite shows as a kid, and I still love watching episodes and the movies. Starring Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lill, and Angelica, this cartoon was full of adventures and fun.
3. "Seventh Heaven"
"Seventh Heaven" was almost always on, no matter what day or time, which is probably the main reason I watched so much of it. Or maybe it was because I had a crush on Matt. Either way, the Camden family, a large family of nine, seemed to always have something going on, making it fun to watch. Whether it had to do with the parents, kids, or both, there was always a real-life situation at the center of each episode.
4. "Gilmore Girls"
Lorelai and Rory were #motherdaughtergoals. Plus, Dean was always nice to look at. And guess what? A "Gilmore Girls" revival has been announced! Check it out here.
5. "Supernatural"
Not sure if I liked this because of the content or because of the attractive actors. Either way, "Supernatural" was one of my favorites. This thrilling show following Sam and Dean, two brothers who hunt monsters and, you guessed it, other supernatural entities, was super creepy and addicting. This is one of the first "scary" shows I watched.
6. "Scariest Places on Earth"
Speaking of scary...every year around Halloween, ABC Family (now Freeform) hosts "13 Nights of Halloween." One of my favorite parts of this used to be the "Scariest Places on Earth," a show that would record a family as they explored one of the "scariest" places on earth in the dark. Not only was it awesome to see the scary, creepy places around the world, the narrator also had a really unique voice that I always tried to imitate as a kid. This show definitely initiated my love for scary movies and shows.
7. "Full House"
This was is a classic. I would watch this almost everyday after school. If you don't know the Tanner family, then are you even an American? Each episode was full of real-life situations and lessons, making it the perfect show for all ages. While there's a new spin-off, "Fuller House," I think we can all agree that the original is the best.
8. All the throwback MTV dating shows that were obviously staged
Remember "Next"?
Or "Parental Control" where the parents didn't like their child's current bf/gf?
Or "Room Raiders" where someone chose a date from three people solely based off their bedroom?
9. "Degrassi" (only the good seasons though)
While "Degrassi" has a ton of seasons, the first few were the best. This teenage-targeted show dealt with so many issues, including sexuality, substance abuse, family problems, and more, making it super relatable and educational. Not to mention it introduced us all to Drake.
10. "Zoey 101"
"Zoey 101" was probably one of the best shows on Nickelodeon in the 2000s. If you've never wanted to go a school like PCA, then you're lying. PCA was everyone's dream school for forever. Honestly, I wish college was like PCA. I'm kinda mad at Jamie Lynn Spears for getting pregnant and getting the show cancelled, but I guess all good things must come to an end.
