"The mystery of well-being for both personality and body is not to grieve for the past, stress over the future, or envision inconveniences, however to live right now wisely and sincerely."
One of the best, most unanticipated results of rearranging our lives is that it permits us to start living our lives in the present. Wiping out superfluous belongings has freed us from a large portions of the feelings connected with past lives, which were keeping us stuck. Also, clearing our minds has permitted us the opportunity to shape our lives today around our most imperative qualities.
Living in the past or the future does not just deny you delight today, it denies you genuinely living. On that note, consider these eight tips below to begin carrying on with your life in the moment:
1. Smile.
Each day is full of many possibilities! Start it with a smile. You are in control of your attitude every morning, so keep it optimistic.
2. Remove unneeded things.
Removing things associated with past memories or lives frees us up to stop living in the past and start living in the present.
3. Fully appreciate the moments of today.
Soak in as much of today as you possibly can–the sights, the sounds, the smells, the emotions, the victories, and the loses.
4. Forgive and move on.
If you are holding onto resentment toward another because of past hurts, choose to forgive and move on. The harm was their fault, but allowing it to impact your mood today is yours.
5. Work hard today, but keep dreaming of the future.
Dream big. Set goals and plans for the future. But remember, working hard today is always the first step towards realizing your dreams tomorrow. Don't let those dreams blind your goals for the present.
6. Don’t focus on the past.
If you are still talking about what you did yesterday, you haven’t done much today.
7. Stop worrying.
You can’t fully appreciate today if you worry too much about tomorrow. Realize that tomorrow is going to happen whether you worry about it or not.
8. Think beyond old solutions to problems.
Don’t get locked into a “but that’s how we’ve always done it” mentality. Yesterday’s solutions are not today’s solutions, and they are certainly not tomorrow’s solutions.
“The beauty of this day doesn't depend on its lasting forever.”
