When I was younger, Lisa Frank's artwork simply meant I'd be bringing bright and colorful notebooks, folders and pencils with adorable and mythical animals on them to class. Now, it means so much more.

Lisa Frank has practically become a political figure. She makes bold statements on her artwork now, and it's almost laughable how serious some of her statements are when her actual artwork is so colorful and magical. Without further ado, six times Lisa Frank got way too real:
