More like a greatly terrible idea.

It's just the natural way of life at this point in time that once we make the conscious decision to go away for college, we enter the realm of bad decisions that include the decision(s) to go out on nights that we will probably regret the following morning.

In my opinion, if that's not 'college' in a nutshell, I have no idea what is.

1. The night before a quiz/exam.

We plan weeks in advance to go out on one particular day but that little voice in our heads that tells us to double check our syllabus and lo and behold, we have an exam the day after we've been anticipating on going out. What do we do then? We go out.

2. When we have an 8 AM lecture.

The dreaded 8 AM or the inevitable 8:30s are class times we all have at least once in our college careers. We do what only the sane would do: we go out and drag our feet to our 8AMs.

3. When we day drink... and keep drinking until sundown.

Similar to how we drink the night away, we never fail to day drink starting from 9 AM up until 3 AM. To top it off, we probably have a quiz in our 8 AM lecture the very next morning.

4. When we have to give a presentation during one of our classes.

Nothing is worse than feeling like you have to throw up whilst giving a presentation for a class after a night of drinking. Suddenly, we're totally regretting doing that last Jägerbomb a mere few hours ago.

5. When we promised a friend we'd go out for drinks with them but...

We're just too hungover from getting completely trashed the night before. We were so sure that we would be able to rally and go right back out the night after but our 21 turning 22-year old bodies are saying otherwise.

6. When we thought we would finish all our work before a night of drinking.

But alas, we did not. We saved it all for Saturday afternoon because we were too giddy to do any of it Friday.

7. When we thought we wouldn't be late for work.

But we went out anyway, having set a kabillion alarms and promising that there was no way we would miss these alarms but here we are again, missing these same kabillion alarms.

8. When we thought we wouldn't be so hungover on campus.

But we just threw up in the bathroom of the Student Wing.

9. When we promised ourselves we would be productive with studying in the library after going out on a Wednesday.

Yet we find ourselves reading the same two lines over and over again.

10. When we swore we wouldn't go out again on a weekday for a while.

But it's Thursday and we're putting on our best to play beer pong once again.

We'll always keep promising to not break our many promises of not going out on a school night but hey, we're only undergrads once.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
