Whatever the situation, there are constantly a collection of everyday things that somehow perfectly describe our attitudes in that moment. In my own experience, the source that has given the most accurate description of these events for me personally, is Disney. From skeptics who question why other characters in Disney princess movies spontaneously burst into song to painfully applicable motivational speeches, animated films have it all. So, without further ado, here are the characters that warmed our hearts caught in a wonderful combination of relatability and sarcasm.
1. "Monster's Inc.":
When someone is challenging us, even when we are in no position to argue, what do we do? Make a witty, sarcastic response, of course! Will it worsen the situation? Most likely. Is it worth it? Always.
2." Ratatouille":
So, you've taken your seat in the cafeteria with plates of French fries, pizza, ice cream, and whatever else you could find that looked remotely yummy. If anyone dares interfere with my excessive use of food, my retaliation usually sounds something like this.
3. "Tangled":
Rapunzel's got us pegged. Whether it's telling a white lie, sleeping through class, or I repeat, eating a lot of food, it's hard not to wallow in it all.
4. "The Lion King":
Just a little reminder to those of us who have yet to decode the beautiful language of sarcasm, Timon the wise-cracking meerkat is here to help.
5. "Aladdin":
Honesty is truly the best policy, even if we have to have it spelled out for us. It can definitely be hard sometimes, and that is no lie. Is it too late now to apologize for the poorly placed pun?
6. "The Emperor's New Groove":
Remember that group project you were thrown into, even though you knew that you would be doing all the work? Yeah, this about sums it up.
7. "Alice In Wonderland":
Everyone has someone that, no matter what they say, irritates him or her to the brink of insanity. I am proud to say that I've been on both ends of that uncomfortable conversation.
8. "Frozen":
Oh, the irony... it only took a few decades for a character in a Disney princess movie to point it out. Okay, so maybe it doesn't happen quite to this extreme in real life. Still, replace the word "marry" with "hook up with" and you've got a winner.
9. "Finding Nemo":
As previously stated, honesty is the best policy. So, in the spirit of telling the truth, we can think of at least one time we thought ourselves to be more intimidating than we actually are. As a five-foot-two introvert, I can tell you firsthand that I've had my fair share of arguments end with my opponent unable to stifle a laugh.
10. "The Incredibles"
My feelings exactly after walking away from a test that I know I blanked out on. Just a friendly reminder that finals week is approaching quicker than you think.
11. Sleeping Beauty
For those of you who know the feeling of having a sister who steals your clothes constantly, this is how that confrontation can be expected to end. Then by the time the next week rolls around, that same article of clothing is missing for a second time.
So, when you feel overwhelmed or generally confused about anything and everything, remember that these fictional characters know how you feel. Disney understands, and Disney sympathizes.
