The thoughts that venture through our hungry minds every time we venture into BurHell.

10 Thoughts We All Have in Burwell

Stopping by Burwell for dinner has its perks. There are always friends to sit with, the lady swiping your card will ask about your day, and sometimes the ice cream machine works. More times than not, however, terror strikes the face of the victims of the Burwell blues. These are the top 10 thoughts that any Wofford student has going through there head during any given dinner at burwell.

1. "If all else fails, I'll eat a salad." When walking into the dining hall, the anticipation of how bad the food is going to be can really get to you. We all know that if nothing else is worth eating, at least they have the salad bar. I mean, you can't mess up a salad THAT bad.

2. "That doesn't look too bad." It seems like Burwell puts more effort into the presentation of the food, than the taste. On second thought, this is probably because all of the food probably comes prepackaged in frozen containers made to look presentable.

3. "What kind of meat is this?" or "Is this even meat?" Is it chicken? Is it beef? Is it pork? The world may never know. Unfortunately, it definitely doesn't fit the stereotype of "tastes like chicken!"

4. "Does it really take this long to make grilled chicken?" After a hard pass on the mystery meat, you decide to stick out the line for two pieces of grilled chicken (and only two unless you want to get yelled at by the cook). After waiting in line for 10 minutes, you wonder to yourself why it takes so dang long to grill a piece of chicken.

5. "I wish they could at least keep the cups stocked." After you begrudgingly take the two pieces of chicken and accept that as your only protein, you walk over to the soda fountain only to find that they are out of cups. Then you have to walk all the way to the other side of the dining hall for a cup and then all the way back to get your drink. You've already worked off those two pieces of chicken.

6. "Why are people in my spot?" Of course, there aren't assigned seats in a college cafeteria. But really, is there? We all know where we sit and can get a little angry if we have to change up the routine.

7. "Hopefully this doesn't hit me until after I leave the library." Whether you're too classy to admit it or not, Burwell gets the best of us all. We just all hope that it doesn't hit until we're back in our rooms and in safe distance of a toilet.

8. "Why is cereal the only reliable thing here?" After downing your grilled chicken and still feeling like you could eat a horse, you realize that the cereal is the only reliable thing in Burwell. The salad bar will probably be out of dressing, and the pizza will probably be cold, but there will always be some kind of (off brand) cereal. If you're lucky, enough you may even find some Lucky Charms.

9. "I hope I have enough swipes left to get Zach's." Once you've given up on the thought that grilled chicken and a bowl of cereal will last you through the night, you resort to the usual sandwich at Zach's later. We can just hope that there's at least one more meal swipe left.

10. "Why do I actually eat here?" But really. Why do we eat here? Oh yeah, we're all broke, hungry college students.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
