Ah, yes. The highly anticipated spring break. The beloved week out of the long and arduous school year that is much-deserved by hard-working and studious collegians. Some folks venture down south to soak up the sun on the beautiful shores of the gulf coast. Some keep it simple and go back to their hometowns to catch up with the family, and more importantly, on some ZZZs. No matter how you choose to spend your break, we all still have to endure the week before.
1. Wow. How thoughtful of my professors to wait until the last minute to assign exams/projects/essays for this week.
2. OK, it's finally time to crack down on my diet and workout plan.
No carbs allowed.
3. You know what? It's just one week. I can get through this.
Next week I'll be doing whatever I want, ha!
4. I have to squeeze in that last minute pedi/mani appointment.
I haven't gotten one since last spring...
5. Let's see. I really need to start packing. Oh, wait. I have no clothes...
6. It's fine. I'll just go on a last-minute shopping spree.
None of the stores have spring clothes out yet? Oh. Is winter clothes on the beach acceptable?
7. It's only Tuesday and I'm running on empty. Spring break, where are you?
8. Yeah... this diet thing isn't working out.
I like food too much.
9. I can't find the ability to focus because my mind is too consumed by what shenanigans I'll be getting into next week.
10. My body isn't prepared for what it's about to go through next week.
Or is it?
Ultimately, the suffering we endure the week before is well worth the fun and relaxation we'll experience during spring break. It'll be here before you know it.
