The transition from Thanksgiving Break to Winter Break is the most dreaded time of the year for college students. The anticipation of spending time with family and seeing old friends makes studying that much more difficult. So while you sit in the library, looking for a reason to procrastinate, remind yourself that you aren't the only thinking these things.
1. “Is it too late to drop a class?”
Maybe if I cry, the advisor will feel bad enough for me?
2. “What if I just don't take my exam? I guess I could play sick."
If only it worked that way...
3. “How many more days until winter break?”
We just had a break, but everyone is already ready for another one. A month off of school after cramming for finals is much needed.
4. “Can I start listening to Christmas music now?”
Some people have been listening to Christmas music since Halloween, but after Thanksgiving, it’s finally acceptable to play Christmas music all the time.
5. “I still don’t have the classes that I need for next semester.”
I guess we're all just taking electives next semester. Registration sucks.
6. "Help."
7. “How am I going to fit all my stuff in my car and on the plane for Winter Break?”
A full month at home means we have to pack our whole wardrobe… and then bring it all back again.
8. “Did I have lunch?”
As it gets closer to winter break, we become even more stressed. Our eating schedule turns into eating when you get the chance while studying.
9. “I definitely should've bought Christmas presents for everyone on Black Friday.”
Our busy schedules and limited access to shopping make it a little more difficult for us to find the perfect gift while at school. We're stuck shopping online or finding last-minute gifts when we finally get home after finals.
10. “What am I going to do for spring break this year?”
As crazy as it sounds, spring break plans have to be made well in advance if we don’t want to pay ridiculously high prices or end up with a boring spring break.
11. “I should probably start studying now.”
