1. "Is five minutes enough time to get completely across campus?"

Hint: Five minutes is definitely not enough, especially if you spend those five just waiting on the elevator to stop on your floor.

2. "Should I eat breakfast now, take it with me, or grab something after?"

Hint: Always take something with you (no one wants a rumbly tummy in class). Forget about eating it before you go, you'll almost always run out of time (I speak from experience).

3. "Am I in the correct building?"

Hint: Don't be afraid to ask for help. There's almost always someone willing to help you, they might even walk to class with you!

4. "Is this even the right classroom? I don't recognize anyone..."

Hint: Take a picture of your schedule and set it as the wallpaper on your phone. You'll be able to check it anytime you're feeling anxious, and people will just assume you're checking the time.

5. "How does everyone look so put together and I look like a slob?"

Hint: You don't look as bad as you think you do. If you're really worried about it, leave an extra 5 minutes early and stop in the bathroom to freshen up before class.

6. "Why did I schedule 4 classes in one day?"

Hint: Sometimes it's better to get them all done and out of the way to enjoy the rest of your week. Others prefer to have something to go to every day. It's really just a matter of preference; you'll get it figured out soon enough.

7. "I can't believe I have class with *insert name of personal enemy here*"

Hint: It probably won't be as bad as you think it will be. College classes are a decent size most of the time, so chances are you won't even notice they're there after a few days.

8. "Is the professor really making us introduce ourselves?"

Hint: The professors that make you do that are usually the ones that are invested in their students! They're normally pretty understanding when you have a problem, so don't be afraid to ask them for help if you need it.

9. "Did we seriously get homework assigned on the first day?"

Hint: Although it's annoying, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Use this as an opportunity to go to the library- chances are you'll see someone that's in your class; seize the moment and make a friend!

10. "Am I the only one that has no idea what's going on?"

Hint: You're definitely not. Whether you're a freshman, a transfer student, or a fifth-year senior, most people get overwhelmed on the first day/week of classes. There's a ton of stuff going on, just take a moment and breathe; embrace the chaos- one day you'll miss it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
