Senior year. It's the year you talk about from the beginning, the one that you never think will actually come. Here it is, knocking — well more like banging at this point in the semester, with graduation right around the corner. It comes with a long list of bittersweet emotions, but here are a few that seem to be a common trend in their last semester of college.
1. I don't want to grow up
It wouldn't really be senior year if you didn't have at least one episode crying about not wanting to grow up.
2. You have to pay to graduate?
Seriously. This is a real thing. After all of the time, energy, and not to mention money spent to go to college, they make you pay a graduation fee as well. Who knew?
3. I'm going to miss living with my best friends
Because let's face it, once college is over there is no running next door or across the hall to raid your friends' closets or pantries, or to run to crying when your boyfriend dumps you.
4. The real world work week
Forty hour work weeks every week with no days off sound like a nightmare just thinking about. I can't imagine actually doing it.
5. What did I come to college for anyway
You can't graduate with your degree without at least questioning once how you were going to use it in the real world.
6. Can I go back in time?
Didn't I just move into my freshman dorm like, yesterday?
7. It's impossible to find a job
How do they expect us to find a job in the real world if everywhere requires so many years of experience?
8. Senioritis is a real thing
We thought high school was bad. No. We're only a few months away from being in the real world for the rest of our lives.. a place that we have worked our butts off for four years to get to. Honestly, we deserve to slack off, it's the last time we'll really ever get to.
9. I have to cook?
How long is it deemed 'acceptable' to live off of frozen dinners after you're out of school?
10. I love college
Not to get too sappy, but your college years really are the best years of your life, and they fly by all too fast, so enjoy them.
