Welcome home! You made it through another year of college (or maybe your first)! Congrats! Now it is time to relax and unwind from those tough finals. It probably seems weird to be home after a long semester (I know it is for me). There are some things that may feel different since you don’t live at home full time anymore. These are some thoughts that you might be having during those first few weeks at home:
1. *waking up at noon* Okay, so do I eat breakfast or lunch now…
My sleep schedule is already messed up and I have been home for less than a week. You know that you don’t have anything to do the next day, so you stay up late catching up on tv shows or playing on your phone. Then you find yourself sleeping well into the afternoon.
2. How long can I lay on the couch watching tv until I really need to do that list of chores mom wrote for me?
I suppose I should do the dishes, vacuum, and do the laundry before my mom gets home.
3. Is ice cream (or any other type of junk food) a sufficient meal?
When I go into the kitchen, it's like all of the snack foods are staring at me and will power is no where to be found.
4. What am I supposed to do with all of my stuff from college?
Guess it will sit in the basement and scattered around my room for the next three and a half months.
5. I can’t just leave whenever I want anymore.
I have to make sure it is okay that I use my mom's car and that she knows what my plans are.
6. How many hours of television is too much?
I’ve probably exceeded that amount hours ago.
7. I really need some human contact.
or to at least stop holding conversations with the cat...
8. I guess I should go outside. Maybe I will take a walk. Well, that means having to get up, so that probably won’t happen.
I know, Howie, the sun can be very scary.
9. It’s so nice not having school work to do, but now I kind of wish I had SOMETHING to do.
At least I start my job soon, so that will keep me busy for the rest of the summer!
10. I miss my friends already.
I have made so many great friends over the course of the past two years. It is really hard to be away from them for a whole summer.
