10 Thoughts College Students Have After Finishing Finals

Finals week is certainly the most dreaded time of the year for college students, and the moment we finish that last final of the year is so, so sweet. After finals, college students have a whole three months of summer to look forward to. Here are ten thoughts that might be going through our heads after we finish our finals.

1) I wasn't sure I was going to make it to the end of the year.

The last week month of school can be so overwhelming. With a ton of end of the year projects, papers, and presentations it can be hard to see the end in sight. That last month of school can sometimes seem impossible, but it is so satisfying once you finish.

2) Finals week almost killed me.

Sometimes, we get lucky and finals week isn’t that bad. But sometimes, it doesn’t seem like we will make it out of the week alive. It’s a difficult week with a lot of stress and not enough sleep, but hey, what is college without it?

3) I want to sleep for the next week

After an all nighter or two, sleep is the only thing on your mind. And after being sleep deprived for the last 48 hours, sleeping for a week seems completely reasonable.

4) I'm going to miss my friends this summer

When you decided to stay in your college town for the summer, its kind of strange to see how many people clear out for the summer months, including a lot of your friends. Its strange to say goodbye to the people that you saw everyday you saw during the year, and knowing you wont see them for a few months.

5) Where did everyone go?

Its weird how quickly everyone takes off after finishing finals. If people are heading home for the summer, they don't waste a minute doing so. Its bizarre to see how much things mellow out in the week or so after finals.

6) I am SO ready for summer weather .

The weather is never as warm as we want it to be at the end of finals. Its normally rainy, gloomy, and chilly. The second summer starts, I am ready for the warm, sunny days.

7) Do I really have to start work right away?

I know I need to, and that I would get bored if I didn’t. But after the craziness of finals, the last thing I want to think about is starting my summer job in a few days.

8) I need to get going on my summer bucket list, but first I need to relax for a little bit

We can all be super lazy sometimes, and after finals is prime time for this. Even though we have summer bucket lists that we are itching to get started with, it is nice to take a couple days and decompress before we start packing our schedules with millions of things to do.

9) I have a whole three months of freedom!!

This is the best feeling, going into the summer knowing you have three solid months of goof off. It is a time to do all of the things we want to during the rest of the year, but never seem to have time to. Hello summer, goodbye responsibilities.

10) I can' t believe I made it through another school year.

After my freshman year, I was shocked that I made it through my first year of college. Now, I am shocked that I am having way done with college. Where did the time go?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
