I feel like I should turn this into a column or serial post because I am always reading or "pinning" thought-provoking quotes. So I figured, I might as well just share a few of my favorites with you guys! The only problem is, this list is always changing, so maybe you'll see a part 2 later this year.

So, without further ado, here are some quotes to make you think.

1. "Life is about WHY you do what you do." - Louie Giglio

Louie said this at Passion Conference last week, and I'm not sure he's the first person to come up with this idea, but it stuck with me. There is a Ted Talk below about how businesses have this concept. Personally, I think people should too. At the end of the day, your why defines you. *Disclaimer: it's 18 minutes long but totally worth it*

2. "Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree." -Martin Luther

I think it shows small things are important. They can make a world of difference.

3. "Life's what you make it." - Hannah Montana

I mean, she's right. No room for complaining, it is what you make it...so let's make it rock?

4. "Certain things catch your eye, but only pursue those that capture the heart." - Ancient Indian Proverb

Can I get an amen? Proof that not everything that looks good, is good.

5. "Change your thoughts and you can change your world." - Norman Peale

Maybe it's just me, but if you are tired of the same old same old, only you can change it. I could rant about this, but I'll just let the quote speak for itself.

6. "It's never too late to be what you might have been." - George Elliot

Cue the 5-year-old dream of becoming the best doctor in the whole world, owning a mansion, and having a ~McDreamy~ hubby. Maybe, not. But in all seriousness, if you just want to be a better person, it's not too late.

7. "When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one what has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

Helen, always so wise. I found this, had forgotten about it and wished I hadn't. Thanks for the reminder girl.

8. "God has it all under control if you just let God be God."

The pastor at my church at school said this, so I guess we could give the credit to him. Either way, he was right. Give your problems to the big man and he will faithfully answer, I promise.

9. "God is most glorified in you when you are most satisfied in him." - John Piper

'Nuff said.

10. "What a shame it would be for the enemy to see more potential in you than you do." - Priscilla Shirer

I hope you read this and understand. I considered writing an entire article on this one quote, but here is the paragraph version. The devil schemes against you, all the time. He does this because he knows the power of the Holy Spirit that is in you once you believe in God. He knows what amazing things you can do for the kingdom of God. He wants to stop you, because he sees the potential in you, that you don't see. That's going to stick with me for a while.

If you have 50 minutes, watch this. You'll get a whole lot more than a paragraph out of it.

So there's some food for thought this week. I'm obviously not wise, but these people are and I hope their wiseness benefitted you today. I am always open to cool other quotes, so if you want to send me one of your favorites, it'll probably make my day!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
