The liberating feeling of finally moving off-campus is all part of growing up. We all miss things about our past as we get older and living in the dorms is no exception.
1. The Cafe.
Who actually wants to cook for themselves?
2. Sharing a room.
Although having your own room is great for privacy, there's nothing better than having someone to have sleepovers with every night.
3. People randomly walk into your room at all hours of the day.
This seemed like one of the most frustrating things. When you live off-campus, you miss these random quick visits that actually turn into hanging out for hours.
4. The Market.
Because who wants to cook, or better yet, drive to the grocery store?
5. Flex Money/Campus Cash.
You feel so rich -- until you're down to $10 three weeks into school.
6. News travels fast.
Snow day?! You best believe someone's running up and down the hall with the news.
7. Your RA.
This is like your parent at school. They're always there for you if you need someone to talk to, a hug, or help because your toilet is clogged.
8. Being extremely close to your classes.
Waking up five minutes before your class isn't a problem when you live on campus.
9. The convenience of everyone being together before you go out.
You always know when and where something is going on by simply walking down the hallway. You don't have to deal with phone calls, texts, or even Facebook events to know what's up.
10. The feeling of togetherness the dorms bring.
Living off-campus is a rite of passage that makes you feel older, more mature and gives you a sense of freedom. But there's nothing like being surrounded by your friends and an all-you-can eat buffet in your building.
