Friday, September 22nd , a little more than a month ago, marked the first day of fall. While some of us may have been disappointed by the official declaration of the end of summer, others were ecstatic for the soon to be changing leaves and the rebirth of our fall wardrobes. With fall there are pumpkin patches, riding boots, Timberlands, hot lattes and beautiful colors.
Whether you are a fan of fall or not, here are some things most of us cannot help but to love about fall:
1. Football Season
There’s nothing like dressing up in your best and most ridiculous spirit gear to support your school. Football season brings face stickers, mixed drink concoctions, tailgates, and experiencing the joy that comes with going to and supporting the school you love.
2. Pumpkin Patches and Cider Mills
Need a good Instagram pic? Go to a pumpkin patch or a cider mill. Have a sweet tooth? Donuts and cider will cure that. Want to go somewhere cute with your significant other? Hold hands while you’re being driven on a hayride around an apple orchard.
3. Halloween
Gremlins and goblins unite. Halloween calls for decorations, dressing up, and as much candy as one could want. What could be better?
4. Pumpkin Spice Lattes
I had to include this because you’re lying if you say you haven’t been looking forward to the return of the Pumpkin Spice latte to every Starbucks, Bigby, and Dunkin Donuts menu. Pumpkin spice is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, tasting like fall in a cup.
5. The colors
There are arguably little things more beautiful than the changing of leaves on trees. The way the dull turns to bright, filling our eyes with a range of yellow, orange, red, and green is something that keeps us going through Winter. Not to mention the joy that comes with the crunch of leaves beneath our feet on the sidewalks.
6. The fashion
Tall boots, Timberlands and the cherished vest. The fashion that comes with Fall has to be one of the best parts of the season. After a Summer full of sweating and having to wear hardly anything, it’s a relief to put together a cute and comfortable outfit that calls for nothing more than a sweater and a jacket to be at the perfect temperature when outside.
7. The weather
The great thing about Fall is that it’s not too hot and it’s not too cold; it’s the perfect blend between warm and cold that we can be comfortable in a light jacket or even just a sweater. You don’t sweat while walking to class and you don’t freeze walking home from the bars. What more could one ask for?
8. And (Another) Excuse to stay in and watch Netflix
While it’s usually the perfect blend between warm and cold, there are some days that are decently dark and gloomy. Instead of this being a bad thing, it’s made in to a blessing because those are the perfect days to stay in and watch Netflix or a movie while you’re curled up in a blanket with a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
