If you grew up in the north, then you've probably been subject to a number of snow days when you were a kid. I definitely have, and I can admit that remembering those times, spending hours outside with the neighborhood friends creating different adventures and finding hills to sled down, makes me miss my hometown a whole lot.
So, to embrace the blizzard that is coming to all of you up there, here are some of the things I can remember as some of my favorite childhood memories. I think anyone that grew up in northern place can cherish in remembering all of these things that happened to them as well, when they were kids.
1. Your mom getting you ready to brave the outdoors.
3. Going around to different houses on your street offering to shovel their driveway for $5.4. Skiing, sledding, snowboarding and of course, building an igloo with your friends and cramming as many people as you could into it.
5. Being whacked in the face with an ice chunk that was "accidentally" packed into a snowball during a snowball fight.
6. Hearing your parents worry about driving conditions, which you thought were a blessing because the worse the conditions, the better the chance of no school!
7. Your parents ransacking the grocery store (and so are everyone else's) leaving the bread isle looking like this:
8. The thrilling, yet twisted novelty of seeing how your pets react to the snow.
9. Coming inside, taking all of your snow gear off, changing into your PJs and having a nice cup of hot chocolate.
10. And of course, checking the weather station on TV to see if you're still having school tomorrow (and sleeping with your pajamas inside out to make it help). When you see that school is cancelled:
11. Spending the next week snowed in is fun...if you don't go stir crazy bored out of your mind after a couple days.
