1.) My family

One of the things I will miss the most about home is seeing my family everyday and although I have not even moved in yet, I am already excited to see them again.

2.) Home-cooked food

Although Endicott's dining hall has excellent food and many choices, I am going to miss my moms cooking from time to time.

3.) My dogs

I am going to miss my two best friends more than anything when I go off to school, they have been by my side for all of high school and I wish I could bring my pups to school with me :(

4.) My bed

Although I am planning on making my bed at school as comfy as possible, there is nothing like getting in my bed at home after a long day.

5.) Being a 10 minute car ride away from my best friends

Moving in last has made me miss my friends more than ever. As I see pictures of them starting their new life it makes me really miss being a 10 minute drive from them.

6.) Having my own bedroom

Although sharing a space with new people is all part of the experience, I will miss having my own personal space where I can go by myself and have all of my personal belongings.

7.) Not sharing a bathroom

This is definitely something I am going to miss a lot, having my own space for all of my cosmetics and belongings and being able to use the bathroom whenever I want will be missed.

8.) Access to my own car

Being able to have the freedom of driving my own car whenever I want is a blessing, and I look forward to being able to drive again when I come home for breaks.

9.) Free laundry

Not paying for laundry and being able to do laundry whenever I want will definitely be something I miss a lot, but I look forward to becoming more independent and doing it on my own.

10.) My local coffee shop

I will miss the ability to be able to drive down to my local coffee shop and grab a bagel or a smoothie (not a coffee drinker) whenever I feel like it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
