10 Things To Thank Your Roommate For As The Year Comes To An End

Dear Roommate,

I was nervous to meet you. I was scared that we wouldn't have any of the same interests or get along with each other. I was wrong. I couldn't have asked for a better person to share the year with. You've seen me at my best and at my worst, and I thank you for always sticking by my side (even when I'm a little difficult to handle). I'm beyond thankful to have shared so many memories with you this past year, and I can't wait for the many more to come. So, as the year comes to an end, there's a few things I'd like to thank you for.

Thank you for being sane.

*What a relief*

We've both had our fair share of odd roommates, so thank goodness that we found each other!

Thank you for being as celebrity-crazed as I am.

We follow just about every celebrity that lives in the Los Angeles area. Whenever we wake up in the morning, we don't even have to fill one another in on the previous days most current news from E! Online. Why? Because it's the first thing we both check when we wake up.

We're true investigators and we can't be stopped.

Note: we're not stalkers, we're simply dedicated fans.

Thank you for indulging in an endless amount of carbs with me.

It's not really all our fault. I mean, the school store next to our apartment could have some healthier options. Sure they have yogurt, but who wants that when they're doing homework at 1 a.m.? Cookies and chips just sound so much more appealing.

Yep, college will do that to you.

Thank you for always partaking in LA tourist activities with me.

Our hot spots include: Santa Monica Pier, Third Street Promenade, the Beverly Hills hotel, celebrity house hunting, Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants and television tapings.

Thank you for binge watching TV with me.

Some people might not enjoy watching an episode of "20/20" late at night, but we sure don't mind. And when the repeats started to come on, we turned to "Impractical Jokers." Best decision ever.

Thank you for killing all of the spiders.

It doesn't matter if it's 2 p.m. or the middle or the night. You hop right out of bed and grab a napkin to kill those little suckers. You know the drill.

Thank you for consoling me during the heartbreaks.

You tell me that those guys just aren't worth my time and that I deserve so much better. Lucky for me, I have you to help me to keep my mind off of it...and ice cream.

Thank you for putting on face masks with me when we're too stressed to "do life."

Face masks + wine = happiness.

Thank you for blasting 90s music with me in the car.

Oh how we love our 90s throwback songs! Singing at the top of our lungs is easy—especially when it's Spice Girls or Britney Spears!

Thanks for being you.

You're such a genuine and honest person, and I'm so happy that we're as close as we are! You'll always have my back and I'll always have yours.

So roomie, thank you for everything. I'll remember the memories that we've shared throughout this past year, and I look forward to the many that we'll share in the future! I love you so much.

Love,

Your roommate.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
