1. Introducing you to the family is a BIG deal

Once we’ve introduced you to the family especially our grandparents, best know you’re hooked. It takes a lot for us to downright admit we’re dating since our family members will always ask: “do you have a boypren/girlpren?” It takes a lot of energy to admit it too, but you’re worth it once you’ve been introduced.

2. Family always comes first

No matter how busy we’ll get, we always make time for our family. Once we’ve introduced you to the fam there’s a 90% chance that we’ll be hanging out with them a lot.

3. Family reunions are bigger than school events

We’ll introduce you to about 20+ family members so know the Tito’s and Tita’s.

4. Reunions are the best times to be shameless with your talents

Karaoke, baile’s, and eating contests are a must.

5. We always make sure you've eaten

Filipinos love food and one way of showing our love is by making sure you’re well fed.

6. At some point in our relationship, you will eat Jollibee, Adobo, and Filipino street food.

And other famous Filipino dishes tbh. We’ll end up at Seafood city a lot too.

7. Filipinos are typically happy

We laugh easily and anything can keep us going. There’s never a dull moment with Filipinos.

8. We’re driven and hardworking

Best know that we strive for what we want and work hard towards our goal. We expect our partners to be masipag (hardworking) too, teamwork makes the dream work.

9. We love our culture

So there’s a huge chance we’ll teach some Filipino phrases and important Filipino events. Noche Buena is gonna be lit, I promise.

10. Filipinos are full of love. So get used to it

We’ll always show you how much we love you and how important you are to us. “Mahal kita” isn’t enough to show you our love.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
