10 Things To Add To Your Summer Bucket List

Theres no time to complain you have nothing to do with a list like this!

10 Things To Add To Your Summer Bucket List

The weather is starting to get warmer, your friends are coming home from college, high school is coming to an end, and it's about that time to start planning your summer vacation. Whether your family is planning to go on vacation or not, hopefully you'll be spending a ton of time with your friends at home. Sometimes our hometowns may get boring, so here is a few things you and your friends can add to your 2016 Summer Bucket Lists!

Take a Road Trip With Your Friends

Whether it's a day trip or you plan to make a weekend of it, a road trip should be one of the essentials on any good summer bucket list! You can pick a local place that you've never been to, or you can drive out of state. Wherever you go, the ride is part of all the fun. Pack a few snacks, make a good iPhone playlist, and pick your place. Good music, good friends and good vibes; you can't go wrong.

Have A Netflix Movie Marathon

Those rainy days are the absolute worst! It seems like there is nothing to do when the weather won't cooperate. One thing you can do to combat those rainy day blues is invite some of your best friends to your house, pop some popcorn and start watching movies. One cool thing you can do to make this even better is select a theme, and tell everyone to bring their favorite movie that matches your theme!

Go To A Festival Or Outdoor Concert

For the last couple of years, the biggest trend has been to attend festivals like Coachella or Firefly. These festivals are a fantastic summer plan and if you can get to one you should! Take a few friends on a road tip to a festival you guys are all interested in going to, and you won't regret it! If a long road trip isn't possible or doesn't sound desirable to you, there are plenty of other places that have outdoor venues. A show at an outdoor venue will give you that "Coachella" feel without the hassle!

Go On A Hike

One of the most exciting parts of summer is the amazing weather, so take advantage of it! Not only is hiking great exercise, but it's really beautiful too. You and your friends will have a great time getting in shape together, and you may also snap some really great pictures. Most hikes feature Instagram-worthy views when you get to the top!

Have a Home Cooked "Squad" Dinner

If your squad is anything like mine, you guys find yourselves eating out pretty often. While Chili's and Applebee's are great, they can get a little pricey. To help save a little money, have a squad potluck! Everyone makes their favorite dish at home, and you all meet at someone's house to eat dinner together. Not only will this save some money, but it'll also be fun to cook! (Bonus tip: have a vote to see who made the best dish!)

Have A Fun All-Nighter

If you guys are students, chances are you've pulled an all-nighter to study for that terrible test or write a ten-page paper. Replace the nightmarish memory of your last semester at school with a new kind of all-nighter. Have a couple of friends sleepover and let the fun begin! You can play Just Dance, bake some cookies; basically do anything but sleep!

Find A Carnival Or Fair

Little town fairs have always been some of the most fun places I've been to during the summer months. From the games, to the fair food, to the rides, you will always have a good time! Go with some of your friends to ride the rickety "zipper" ride or blow

ten dollars trying to win that giant elephant in the back.

Have a Bonfire

Whether it's on the beach or in your best friend's backyard, a bonfire is always a good time. It's all about your good friends keeping warm around the fire talking about anything and everything! Grab some graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate to make yourself some s'mores!

Volunteer

While it's great to do fun things like go to carnivals and concerts, summer is a great opportunity to do something for someone else. Volunteering makes you feel good about yourself and is a great thing to add to resumes. Helping other people can be incredibly rewarding and may also create connections with people that may help you in your future.

Take Pictures

Last but not least, take pictures! You're bound to make tons of memories this summer, and you'll want to capture them! Take as many pictures as you can--and I'm not just talking about the staged group photos! Take some candid ones too. Take one of your friend laughing, or your friend taking the first bite of your squad dinner! Whether you use these pictures to spice up your Instagram feed or to cover your walls, you won't regret taking a million of them!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
