10 Things That Happen When You Have No "Text-Chill"

For those of us that struggle with a chronic lack of chill, we know that the struggle is actually real... Especially when it comes to texting. Here are a few things that inevitably happen when you have no "text-chill"...

1. Having a crush is like impossible.

When you like someone, you have a tendency to overthink every. single. thing they say or do. You're constantly on the edge of your seat wondering if the fact that they put a period at the end of their message means that the end is near for this "relationship."

2. You have to really work at taking time to reply to a message.

You reply within seconds to all messages because you just CANNOT WAIT to continue the conversation. Your friends try to tell you to play it "cool" when talking to your crush and wait a bit to respond, but you always break down and reply almost instantly.

3. You talk about your crush like you're getting married tomorrow.

"OMG!!!!!! ____ just sent me a KISSY emoji and the emoji of the boy and girl with a heart in between!!!!!! WE ARE LIKE TOTALLY MADE FOR EACH OTHER!!!!"

4. You tend to TYPE LIKE THIS A LOTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!

When you have no chill, you have to relay that in your texts because c'mon, you're you and that's just what you do.

5. You're not afraid to send multiple texts in a row.

WHY WOULD YOU WAIT FOR A RESPONSE WHEN YOU HAVE SO MUCH ELSE TO SAY AND SO MANY MORE QUESTIONS TO ASK?

6. You have no smooth way of communicating your feelings, thoughts, emotions, etc.

You're that person that will bluntly say to your crush, "I like you and you're so awesome" out of excitement and if there isn't a response within 2 minutes, you say, "OH WOW SORRY MY ROOMMATE HAD MY PHONE WHAT A CRAZY GIRL SHE IS!! LOL!!!! SORRY!!!!!! I DON'T EVEN FIND YOU THAT CUTE REALLY!!!!" and then begins to slowly die inside.

7. You've never been called a "go-with-the-flow" kind of person.

If someone says, "Yeah well I'll just text you sometime later tonight and we'll figure it out" your heart begins to beat just a little bit faster and your hands start to get all sweaty because this is actually your worst nightmare. When you've got no "text-chill", you sit by the phone waiting for that person to text you and if the time frame is "sometime later" you just don't know when it will be and HEAVEN FORBID YOU MISS IT!

8. After you send a risky text, you sit there staring at the three dots and start to think up ridiculous scenarios when those three dots disappear.

"Well, I've done it now. This is the end; HE'S NEVER TALKING TO ME AGAIN. He's probably sitting around with his roommates laughing at me and calling me a CRAZY PERSON OR SOMETHING. That's it, I'm changing my name and number, and moving away because I just CANNOT EVER see him again. I'M SO EMBARRASSING." *crush replies* "Ok, it's fine, we're like totally good now. So what boy's names sound good with his last name? I'm thinking Christopher ____ totally rolls off the tongue."

9. You're usually the first one to respond to the group chat, and most of the time the only one to respond at all.

The only people who actually like group messages are those of us with no chill because it allows us to handle all of our people at once, rather than having to send messages to several people individually. This means more time talking, less time switching in between messages.

10. All your friends know they can count on you to respond, no matter what.

Although it's sometimes annoying to be friends with someone who has no chill over text, you've got to admit they'll always respond quickly and eagerly, even if it's just because you told them you were proud of yourself for eating an apple instead of the french fries in the cafe.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
